The game doesn't launch.
When I try to launch the game, the screen goes black for a few moments, and then it shows the usual popup saying how TheWalkingDead2.exe has stopped working. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. I thought maybe I accidentally screwed up the install but after re-installing it, it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?

1) Go to Library
2) Right Click on The Walking Dead: Season Two then click Properties
3) Click on LOCAL FILES then VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE

This usually helps with other games, so no need to re-install whole game

Tried it, doesn't help. I've restarted Steam, my computer and did a hard and soft reset of my modem and router. I've tried re-installing the game, verifying the files and even installing a beta update from Steam to see if maybe it would work. Nothing has worked.

Side note: I did the resets on my modem/router because it was basically telling me I didn't have an internet connection. It fixed that issue but not this one.

I figured it out, or rather remembered it. Many games made with the Telltale tool don't launch when a 360 controller is plugged in. If you have a controller plugged in, try removing it and then launching the game! If that doesn't help, then I'm sorry.

That was the issue. I actually just finished playing the first episode and came back here to post that if any USB controller or anything remotely similiar is plugged into the computer, it won't launch the game. Thanks though!

No problem! Thanks for letting me know too! What a strange issue though...

I'm having the same issue, but there's no controller plugged in my computer.. When the logo of the first episode "all that remains" shows up in tre screen, the screen turns black and the "the walking dead.exe" file stops working.. What do I do??

same problem. no controller plugged in.

That's further than I got with the controller plugged in, so I'm afraid I can't really help you there. Maybe try updating your drivers?

well I found a "fix" for me now. It crashed because I was recording with Fraps. So solution was, to have Fraps turned off at the game start, and activate it shortly after the game has loaded.
Maybe this will help some other folks out there. But it still is pretty annoying, because the game also just crashed, when I turned Fraps off again.
Hopefully there will be a patch soon.
