I thought exactly the same thing as you and therefor I didn't take it.
Just something nice and shiny placed there to test you.... things like that will always come back to bite you in this game.
Also... if they saw clem with the bandage, I figured someone would of known it was in that draw along with the watch.
Or Telltale is messing with us do-gooders who didn't take the watch, and it turns out you'll desperately need it later on to be able to save someone you care about. Wouldn't that be something...
i just take the needle i got bandages from alan (knock on the windows) and the poxidote? from sarah, dont take the watch if they want they can have the needle back :)
Or it might be like the swing-thing in season 1, ep 2, where you can fix the swing and make the kids happy, or leave it and one of the saint John brothers will fix it, but in the end it dosen't affect anything at all.
It is pretty worthless in the world as it is so I think it could come back to haunt Clementine or prove useful. Perhaps the group has to move on quickly and doesn't get a chance to take their belongings but she saves the day before a barrage of 'why did you take it' or perhaps it could be used as a plant on another character to stir things up i.e Rebecca.
