So what was the deal with the Watch?
(Spoilers?...Maybe?...IDK)

So when you are sneaking around in the house, in a room, you can open a draw and inside you will find a watch. You have the option to look at it and take it. I didn't take it. I was expecting at the end, when they find you in the shed, that they would search you, but they didn't for me.

So does the watch have any importance?

It'll probably come up in episode 2, or maybe later. I left it alone cause I didn't want to take anything I didn't absolutely need. Figured they'd be peaved about me stealing medical supplies, best not to add to it and take only what I absolutely needed which could be explained and more understandable than taking a luxury item like a watch.

I took the watch, i bet Clem will get searched and they find the watch on her, which will get her into trouble.

Maybe you can use it to bribe someone. That's what I was thinking anyway.

It is true that Clem was privy to some information that was later usable as leverage. She could become more manipulative then I'm sure anyone of us would expect.

I almost took the watch... but then, I asked myself, why? The hands weren't moving, it looked battery operated to me, and the battery was obviously dead. The gold was worth something at one time, but what good is it now? What will a gold watch buy you? A slice of bread? A bullet or two? I saw taking the watch as having no positive effect on Clem, so I left it.

I thought exactly the same thing as you and therefor I didn't take it.

I was afraid if I took the watch and they found it on Clem they would say she's a thief, she couldn't be trusted or that she's with carver (whoever that is).

the first thing I thought when I saw that watch was. "It's a trap".

Just something nice and shiny placed there to test you.... things like that will always come back to bite you in this game.

Also... if they saw clem with the bandage, I figured someone would of known it was in that draw along with the watch.

When hiding in the bathroom the pregnant lady comes in sounding like she is in doubt of who her babies father could be

I think she'll get some use from it. She'll be able to earn some "rep" with one person, but lose some rep with one or more.

Or Telltale is messing with us do-gooders who didn't take the watch, and it turns out you'll desperately need it later on to be able to save someone you care about. Wouldn't that be something...

I know what you mean it felt like a trap to take it but at the same time it was out of the way so you could of missed it so maybe it is going to be helpful

Everyone seems to think taking the watch is going to do something horrible, but I like to think something is going to happen, that will make the watch useful. That be just like telltale, to make everyone go: "♥♥♥♥, I regret my decision".

Or it might be like the swing-thing in season 1, ep 2, where you can fix the swing and make the kids happy, or leave it and one of the saint John brothers will fix it, but in the end it dosen't affect anything at all.

I really hope it's not the latter... I figured Clem's not a thief like that/she'll probably get caught with it so I wasn't going to let her grab it. I mean I sort of contradict myself because we did steal medical supplies from the group but that was a matter of life or death. She hasn't gone through hell for 2+ years, lost everyone she's cared about and continued living on just to stay compliant in a shed and die from an infection. Anyway getting off topic so yeah, if it turns out that that watch can save a life I'll be so pissed off at myself...

The watch is certainly going to prove a pivotal object later in the game whether it be the next episode or further on. As I mentioned in my other thread; I actually took it.

It is pretty worthless in the world as it is so I think it could come back to haunt Clementine or prove useful. Perhaps the group has to move on quickly and doesn't get a chance to take their belongings but she saves the day before a barrage of 'why did you take it' or perhaps it could be used as a plant on another character to stir things up i.e Rebecca.
