If you start season 2 with no season 1 save, the season 1 choices that are relevant will be randomly chosen.
Even with the Season 1 DLC imported as well, no major changes. But if your brother loves the game so much: get him Season 1, Season 1 DLC and Season 2 when they're all on sale on Steam.
I played season 1 three times to discover more dialogue and play through each option, but season 2 has no replay value.
I loved season 1 and that's what put Telltale games on the radar, but I feel so cheated with season 2 that I despise the company now.
Season 1 episode length: 2h-2h 30min depending on how much time you spent exploring and talking to others.
Season 2 episode length: 1h 30min at best.
It's a waste of money.
To tell you the truth season 1 is the best but it was so hard to one up it i can see why
For season 3 i could see them pulling a prequel about lee or kenny before the events of season 1
