Sarita's Arm
Can someone explain to me the logic behind the decision of choosing between chopping off Sarita's arm or killing the zombie who bit her? On my first playthrough I chose to kill the zombie. I mean, what other reason would there be to cut her arm off in that instance? If you all obviously remember in season 1, when the player had the choice of cutting Lee's arm off and they did, it didn't stop him from turning at the end. Now in season 2, I don't recall who, but they told us that someone had their arm cut off and they were saved? Additionally, when Kenny is furious with Clementine for apparently not saving Sarita, he tells her he could have saved her by cutting her arm off. Someone correct me on whether or not he actually said that. If he did, how does that justify Kenny snapping on Clementine when he knew damn well that Lee didn't survive with his arm amputated? Or is there no justification simply because Kenny was slowly starting to lose his mind?

Yes, and we just had encountered a guy (forgot his name) who lived on because his arm was chopped off immediately.

Yep Reggie. I chopped her arm off immediatly. I thought by the time i kill the zombie, walk out of there and then decide if we should chop off her arm or not it would've been too late. On the first season Lee waited too long to chop off his arm. Here it was different, the bit couldnt have been fresher (since the zombie still had his teeth on her). And since Reggie was doing pretty well with his arm chopped off, well, before being thrown off the rooftop. So I thought what the hell, let's save her. I never thought she would be so scared of me afterward that she'd fall on a group of zombies and still die. Kenny was pissed at first but he recognize I made the right call after a while. :goblin:

Was that ever explained even? Now I'm kinda bummed that I didn't pick that choice.

Ahh, Reggie was his name. Gotcha. I planned on doing another play through soon anyway. Kenny was so angry with me I was like woah, my bad, I didn't think chopping the arm immediately would make a difference. I know what to do next time though.

It's never explained in the game, however it is hinted at with Lee's death. The game is based off the comics, and they eventually learn that cutting the limb off as fast as possible will save the person.

Just one of the many examples of pointless "choices" your character makes that plagued this title.

I must agree. One pointless choise, no matter what u do Sarita dies. Bunch of such junky choises in both games. Sad. But still, this (i mean dead ends in such choises) is what adds those grim colours that zombieapocalypse is made of.

Why had I hoped that she may live if I chose the other option? Typical...
UmtiQue Nov 12, 2014 @ 1:23am
Well, basicly there was not much choise u see. If u kill the zombie - she'll turn, coz chopping the arm after getting out of horde would be to late. If u chop a hand off immediatly - she panics, screams, attracts zeds on her and dies painfully. Well... come on. U chop a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ arm in a middle of zombie horde, and expect a woman not to even blink on that? Of course the pain, shock, fear resulted into scream and getting killed. How would u react if in middle of a fight, when u'r not expecting such thing, someone cuts your arm off?
UmtiQue Nov 12, 2014 @ 7:25am
I think that if there was no horde Sarita would have stayed alive. The thing she is killed after chopping the hand off - is that she screamed. Scream=attention from zombies=they attack. If u dont cut the hand - it's obvious to late to cut it off afterwards getting out of horde, because it'll be to late then.

Why pointless? You choose how to act. You can't know how the one will react. And did you really expect Sarita to stay calm? "Hey look my arm is cut off with an axe and I'm bleeding like a fking fountain, but it's allright." ????? ?.
No way chopping off the arm while a fight and in the center of a herd is gonna work.
Played the sceene 2 times and decited to not to chop the arm off, so at least Kenny can say goodbye.

That's what I was thinking. First of all, I thought to myself, how the heck could an 11 year old girl cut off her arm in one decisive blow without putting Clementine at risk as well. In the heat of the moment I didn't think that was a wise choice.

I chose to kill the zombie, because walkers are attracted to sound and she screams at the very end that option makes no sense.
skada Nov 13, 2014 @ 6:21pm
Not sure if it's from the TV show or the games, but it is mentioned that if you amputate quickly enough, you will not die from a bite.

Assuming you don't die from blood loss, etc.
