Reggie dies no matter what - Choices don't matter
So my first playthrough I was mean to Reggie - I messed with the fence and helped Sarah with the plants. Carver got mad, made Reggie do a swan dive off the roof. Damn.

Second playthrough, I decide to be better to Reggie. I don't mess with the fence which gets him brownie points in the morning. Then I do my own work with the plants. But Carver still gets mad and Reggie still eats pavement.

So no matter what you do, Reggie is dead. So what's the point of making us choose to mess with the fence or not? None of the choices actually matter. What's the point of making us think we can change the outcome?

But atleast TWD doesn't try to pretend otherwise, I'd like to see where everyone is getting the impression that these games actually have branching storylines.
Oh but what does it say on a starting screen? Something about a game taiolring by the choices you make? I do realise they say all kind of stuff on their forum now but i felt a bit betrayed when i started playing this series.

And shame on you guys for bringing up Mass Effect, the game was a jewel up untill last 15-20 minutes.
Tailoring doesn't mean branching the story off in dramatic ways, it simply means that it changes depending on your choices, which it does... I've had to say this a million times now. People getting dissapointed because of the choices, largely stems from them expecting too much.

I never really "brought mass effect into this"... but if you want me to, then I'll just say that 2 was extremely dissapointing, and 3 was garbage outside of tunchanka and rannok. I'm one of those people who wanted the series to stay like the first one, but EA obtaining Bioware made sure that that would never happen.

Its just a clever word play. There are games out there where choices do matter (in a drammatic way in some) and saying that game is "tailored...oh no wait, its actually "only tailored".too bad you spent your money already" is like leeching on those games' reputation.

What? Are you saying they shouldn't be allowed to advertise a feature in their game simply because other games contain said feature? That's just stupid.

The only feature this game contains is advertising "hardcore moral choices" as "choices that actually matter".

No,they can make false advertisements and say i misunderstood them any time they want.Im sure nobody would argue about that.

TWD does not have enough branches based on a selected choice. When you do make a decision, it seems that decision does not extend further into the story. A temporary decision at best.

If EVERY choice you made changed the outcome of the overall story, it would take 100x more work because there'd have to be a dozen different endings.

Some choices have to be canon for the story to progress, if no choice matters then why bother having choices at all? It might as well be a movie, but the whole point of the choices is to make it personal. Maybe your choices aren't the be all and end all of the season, but hell, for the good of our pride, let's pretend they are!

Why do we tolerate this continued sort of treatment? You'd think that, with a lot more revenue coming in from S1's success, they'd be able to craft a much more responsive, more complex narrative, but now it's shorter and more streamlined than before. In S1, the choice between Doug and Carly, however crude the choice was, gave the player one of two very different characters for an episode and a half, allowing you to form believable relationships with them. In S2, Pete dies almost immediately and Nick becomes completely irrelevant in E3. Why the change? Is it laziness?

Same as season 1. No matter what choices you make, the characters written to die, will die.
