How do i recover saved files?
I have a new laptop and i downloaded my game and now i have to start from the beginning?

That depends on whether or not you still have your saves either backed up or on your old computer. If you have not made any backups, but can still access your old files, the saves should be in Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead. Copy them to the same location on your new laptop.

I had reformatted my hard drive sicne finishing season 1. What I did was reinstall season 1, launch it and see if it recognizes your old completed game. If it does (like it did for me) then you should be able to import that into season two.

Season 1 doesnt say on the store page that it uses cloud saving but it seems to as far as I could tell.

It's not giving me that option. Lets say that I'm too lazy to play the first two episodes again; can i just play episode 3 without having the saved data of episodes 1 and 2?

You can start with Ep3 but it will have the standart "decisions", probably not yours.
