How far does season 1 / 400 days affect season 2?
Hi there!

I really enjoyed season 1, made up my choices etc, but then i decided to uninstall it and lost all my saves (that was before season 2 was announced),

So, i decided to retake season 1 in order to carry on with the story to the 2nd one, since i read that telltale said that choices from the previous walking dead game will affect the 2nd season.

But due to critical bugs such as the well-known "black screen" (next episode (2 in my case) not loading) + the game not saving the whole episode after fixing the black screen bug previously (putting the prefs.prop on the ep2 folder) + hours spent for nothing (despite playing season 1 smoothly the first time).

I gave up due to frustration, and decided at least, to do just the "400 days" episode and try to start season 2 directly skipping the whole ep1 (since i cant play it just because of these bugs).
But im somewhat uncertain about that...

So the question is; is it worth to ignore season 1 and start directly from 2, or not (example: characters from s1 whom you made a strong feeling bonding appearing now just as complete strangers or starting with some randomized choices from 1 which you are mostly on disagreement)

Thanks in advance ^^

TLDR: well just as the question says....

It doesn't really affect things in the long run but changes people's reactions to things. That said, everyone moans about it being pointless but it does create a great sense of atmosphere. You actually feel guilty or happy or sad at the choices you make and makes you feel that you're actually part of the story rather than watching it.

(Cleverest part I think being the messed up guy that kidnaps Clem commenting on all the 'bad' decisions you made)
Up to you whether to replay or start a new game in season two. If you choose the latter, the personal connections of your choices in season one may not be present. I replayed season one after my saves were gone just to play season two. I think season one saves are stored in Steam's Cloud, but I ignored it for an odd reason. You may want to check up on it.
I got the black screen 'No signal' too; music could be heard in background but had to manually hard reset PC. Try running the game in Windows 98/ME and as admin, and enable windowed mode. I run a GTX 295 non-overclocked, but these black screens have been occuring lately. PC/GPU is cool like ice and fan speed has been manually increased using EVGA Precision. The solution I found: lower the Core, Shader, and Memory Clocks by half from default value--been BS free ever since. If you have ATI, download Overdrive or MSI Afterburner and do the same.

Season 2 has some call backs to season 1 but it's not a mayor thing. Stuff from season 1 keeps coming up in conversations when Clem talks about her old group. However we have no way to know since we're just 2 episodes in.

400 days... well it's been heavily hinted in Season 2 that we will see the 400 Days characters (seen one so far) so in that case it might affect the experience a lot. But Only telltale knows exactly what's going to happen.

ok, understood. Thanks everyone for the answers ^^ !
As of yet in terms of 400 days the only character we've seen is the one that goes with Tavia regardless.
