Annoying lag all of the sudden?

Having a bit of a strange situation that has only started recently. But before I get into details I must confirm, I use a rather high-spec (to an extent anyway) PC.
It can run the latest releases with the graphics amped all the way to max with a full frame-rate. Not that it really matters since this is a discussion of a Telltale game
of all things.

Now, I know the series is well, rather renowned for having some issues of lag on consoles. I myself experienced this when I played through the Xbox 360 version of
the first Season two years ago. Since getting the series on computer I've been lucky to not have one awkward pause or stutter ever. And I have played most of Telltale's
products.

But now, recently... I've run into an issue with the newest Episode of Season Two, A House Divided. I don't know what it is but after I play for a certain amount of time my
game begins to get very stuttery to the extent where I think the game crashed. I mean I've seen freezes last well over ten seconds. And that, just won't really do.
Should be noted, I play using my PS3 controller using the DS3 tool, I find more enjoyment in Telltale's works on controllers. I just prefer having my dialogue choices
be branched on the face buttons instead of clicking them. Oh and I'm also playing on Big Picture. No surprise there.

I'm honestly puzzled at what could be causing it. I'm having doubts the game itself is actually the cause but when I played the recent episode of The Wolf Among Us
I didn't have this issue at all. And not only that, but this isn't the first time this has happened to me on TWD S2. It actually happened on the very same episode quite awhile back. Around the time the episode got released.

I don't know what kind of details I can give that could be of help, but I'm having doubts it's the game's fault. When I try to open Steam while the games freezing it would seem
that Steam itself could be crashing... not sure.

If anyone has any kind of info on where I should start looking around for a solution or better yet, if you had it happen and resolve it I'd be most grateful. Thanks!

Try playing without Big Picture. Only viable solution I can think of since TWD is not very graphic intensive and it's not an MMO.

Have you done any recent driver updates for your GPU?

I done both of these and with still no luck. And I always played on Big Picture, so I really don't know why it would cause it all of the sudden. Gonna take a look around for any unnecessary programs that might have snuck in on my hard drive though.

For me game has forgotten it saves. Already played those 2 ep`s again trough and its fine now. Wonder what causes it. This time i keep a clock and Sarah didnt showed a gun. Petes corpse wasnt showed. I hope game wont forget saves anymore.

I closed some of the unnecessary processes and it went noticeably faster. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to deal with it but something makes me doubt it, thanks for the help guys. Just a bit strange that it happens with this and TWAU only. Especially when I do play several, several games on Steam.
