I'll hold off judgement on the plot until the season's finished :) But right at this moment I'd say that the story seems possibly weaker than the whole of S1, but better than S1E1 and S1E2 (I really wasn't a fan of S1E2.. or E4 to be honest). I think the season has the potential for a more solid (if not as impactful) story overall, but then I'm not sure which one I'd prefer if that makes sense.
Yes! Totally agree.
I like the mood of Season 2 so far better than I liked Season 1. Moments like Clem playing catch with Sam or her looking at the doll and throwing it away without even thinking about it as a toy. Also Clem's voice acting is beyond superb and the music is so nice the game is a joy to listen. I'm a real fan of Sarita's humming.
I also think that the plot is more "solid" here in that we get a clear story arc. Season 1 didn't really have one story arc spawning the whole season, the first two episodes were sort of independent and the real "plot" began in Savannah. However the stories for the individual episodes so far were better, perhaps because of this. For example we get the St. Johns for episode 2 which was auto-conclusive, thus making a stronger episode with a remarkable ending. Season 2 Episode 2 is part of something bigger so we can't really judge.
However so far I'm loving this season and these characters. Bring it on, TellTale!
And hell yeah, dude. It struck me too pretty harshly in a way when seeing Clem pick up and drop that doll so carelessly. It really shows how different the world is now, and how much Clem has adapted to it.
Another thing that struck me pretty hard was when Carver comes to the house and you get the option to say you're staying there with your dad. He asks his name and I tought Clem was certainly going to say "Lee" and I'd cry like a baby because we took care of her and she saw Lee as her guardian. Then she said "Ed" (hear real father's name) without giving it a second thought and I just sat there and didn't hear the following two or three sentences.
It's this overall mood of quite hopeleness being treated like it's the most normal thing that makes this season for me. The game knows what buttons to push in me I guess.
Oh, and as for the graphics, I see a big improvement from Season 1, specially in overall mood of the scenes. They feel more cohesive, there's more of an atmosphere.
