The Walking Dead: Season Two

(Spoilers) Why don't the survivors keep themselves covered in zombie remains at all times?
At the end of last season, it was discovered that when a human is covered with zombie innards, the zombies do not attack them. They use this technique to successfully escape from the hotel, but why do they not utilize this ever again? Wouldn't it make traveling much easier if the zombies won't ever attack them? In the beginning of episode 2 when nick and clementine are in the cabin would have been a perfect time for them to use this as a way to escape without being bit.

they didn't really have any weapons on them to get the zombies guts.
While the stench definitely keeps the walkers away, it's shown to be NOT 100% foolproof. And I'd surmise that even with the right stuff to get their hands on those gooey guts, there's a buttload of health risks involved making it not that smart of a choice on the long run.
I mean, having that stuff splattered on you would make it so much more likely for the smallest cuts and scrapes getting infected seriously. Of course the health risks aren't limited just there. But the point is, while it might be a temporary help in a bad situation, it doesn't really seem like a long term solution.

Even in the comics (spoilers) it's not like Michonne had leashed walkers with her at every single moment, even though using them is shown to help. And in 400 Days Roman's diner group seemed to use walkers to both scare away humans and keep away other walkers, but considering how things turned out... not the perfect solution.

Personally when speaking of "covering" anything, I'm surprised no one in the apocalypse has figured out to use animal hides and wood to cover their limbs (and other highly possible places of getting bit). While amputation is shown to apparently work in SOME instances, it's still nice to keep your limbs. And when you're bit somewhere other than your limbs, it's not like amputation is a possibility.

Clem had a hammer, and Nick had a rifle. Kinda hard to open a walkers stomach and cover yourself in it's organs with only a hammer and a rifle. And about always wearing zombie guts, i think the stench of the guts that keep the walkers away may disappear in time. And if i'd be in a zombie apocalypse i wouldn't want to have human organs all over my body for the rest of my life.
They also didn't have a good opportunity to do so. They'd have to silently kill one of walkers and drag it's corpse into the room, without being noticed by the other walkers.

There's also the fact that it'll wash away in the rain, so they'd be getting thereselves in pretty deep if a storm had been coming. It's just not a reliable method.
I'm a bit surprised they didn't do it yeat as well. Although yeah, they didn't really have a good opportunity or a need for this. That's A. And B: You think that having your clothes covered in guts or whatever is cool? I doubt it. It should be used only as a last resort trick.

It was in the first season, 2nd episode i think, maybe 3rd
That's an easy question to answer; because then there would be no conflic. Without any conflict there is no story.

Well then they shouldn't have even introduced the plot point at all then if they were never going to use it again.
Because covering yourself in rotten meat and blood is a good way to catch any number of diseases that can make you sick and kill you. In a world where its not easy to get penicillian from places, getting sick is as much a danger as getting bitten or shot.
