The Walking Dead: Season Two

The Walking Dead: Season Two

Why all the Carver hate?
Just wrote this in a response to another thread, then thought I'd stick it in a new one: -

I don't have a problem with Carver yet; largely because the break away group I ended up with are a bunch of arse hats (with the possible exception of one of them who died at the start of episode 2 and another who is missing at the end).

I don't know whether or not they wronged Carver yet; and from my experience of these people Carver could be a sound guy who is simply looking for some righteous vengeance.

I still don't see how torture and executions make this guy anything less than a villian.
Ruthless =/= villain in this world's context, imo.
Plus Kenny shot first.

I like the way he interacted with Clem, showed his high intelligence (look at the details like the kitchen knife scene ) but allways stayed kind of a gentlemen. Of course he´s a ♥♥♥♥, but living in a world like that - let´s just say i won´t give him the villian stamp, cause everybody would develop a corrupted value system. Ok,except Lee and CLem off course :P:pixelzombie:
Yup. He was so highly intelligent that he didn't think to check under the bed or in the giant closet after he heard Sarah sneaking around. I think it's laughable how much they play up his intelligence when that's one of the first things he does with his first few minutes of screentime.

He didn't need to, he had caught Clem's lie by that stage.
The main reason I dislike Carver is that put a gun against Clem, it's probably becouse i'm way to overly attached to Clem but still no one hurts little Clemy :(
The main reason why I want to Kill Carver (and bonnie) Is because Carver killed Walter, who was innocent and had it in his heart to forgive Nick for killing Matthew and saved him from a walker. He also tied the whole group up (INCLUDING CLEM!) and marched them to his Camp and from what I can see in the next episodes trailer, prisoners are forced Labor. I say this because of the scene where Clementine is walking with a bucket and Troy (I think?) has a gun watching her.

Therefor, why should I like Carver at all? If I look at his character I sure do like what the writers did with him, but in a personal oppinion and from Clem's point of view I hate him.

So what he killed Walter? You know nothing about Walter's back story. How do you know he was innocent anyway? As far as we know the guy Kenny killed was innocent too. So by that logic you must also want to kill Kenny for killing an innocent guy. Nick killed a presumed-to-be innocent guy. So I guess he needs to die too?

It worked though. Carver did the right thing to stop his people from getting sniped. If he's in charge of the group he's responsible for their lives, and protecting them is what he did.

I approve of this comment.

what if someone killed/tortured/hurt you/your family or your friend(s) for no reason? We just dont know what these people have done to Carver. He could be a good guy, but he could be evil too.
If Alvin is Alive Determent you see him being totured by Carver but why.
The guy tortured a man in front of his innocent daughter. So ♥♥♥♥ that guy.

Good god people, he killed someone he didn't even know just to get "even".
I had my doubts during the cabin scene, wondering if maybe Carver wasn't the evil one and the group would turn out to be in the wrong. But after he killed Walter, I don't care if he had a point or not. Even if the group turns out to be bad, Carver is still evil.

[edit: If we're comparing to the comics, then Carver reminds me more of Negan, not really the Governor. The Governor was a pure sadist. On the other hand, in my opinion Negan didn't enjoy violence, but certainly didn't have a problem using it to further his interests either. That's how Carver seems to me -- I don't think he particularly enjoys torture or killing, but he doesn't have a problem with it either if it will get him what he wants.]

But Walter gave Bonnie a lot of food. If Carver wanted to make an example of someone, why didn't he pick Alvin first? (Since apparently Alvin killed someone that Carver knew). It seemed weird that he would lash out at the stranger who had tried to help him first.

And I don't know what Carlos did, but I can't imagine Sarah doing anything to deserve having to watch her father get tortured.

He saw the picture, so he knew it was Sarah there. He probably didn't see much point in trying to take both Sarah and Clem with him (even though they're a lot smaller than him, it would be hard to kidnap both of them). Since Sarah was still there, the others were obviously going to return, so he figured it would be more effective to try to turn Clem against the others while he went for reinforcements.

Walter was killed first because ( im betting ) You could have interviened on Alvin, and so they wanted to make sure Walter died.

Also the baby is probably Carvers.

Why all the hate? He he held everyone at gunpoint, broke Carlos's fingers in front of his daughter and then he executed the nicest guy ever who had also given them a crap ton of food. Carver, if I have any say in it, will not survive.
