Introducing Gay Characters? ****SPOILERS****
I don't know about the comics, but AMC's TWD had the lesbian characters and from my playthrough it appears Telltale's version is as well. It didn't outright say it but there was that close photograph of Walter and Matthew (or Matt as only he referred to him as). Also, Walter referred to Matthew as his "partner" when talking to Clementime after dinner. I don't know what Matthew did but Walter said he was a teacher and I haven't heard of teacher partners, just things like law partners or business partners (like Nick and Luke). So is this the case or am I just reading too much into this? I guess we'll never know for sure ****SPOILER**** since they were both killed unless Kenny or Sarita fills us in later (which is a shame because Lee and Kenny had some good/funny interactions with Kenny's hickish assumptions due to Lee's race and that pattern could of been repeated).

Honestly, I don't think so. Maybe I'm alone, but Walter seemed to be late 30s, early 40s. While I thought Mathew was like 18-19. Not saying they couldn't be a gay couple, just I didn't get that feeling.

I didn't get the feeling that they were gay.

Yes, I did get the feeling that they were gay. It was that last scene with Walter that kinda confirmed it for me. Also, the comics did have some gays in it. 2 of the prisoners at The Prison, and I think if I remember right, 2 guys at the Alexandria Safe Zone.

There is seriously confusion over this?

They were gay.

I certainly hope so. If videogames are finally going to grow up as a medium then they'll have to, you know, grow up and be able to write characters of all walks of life without fear of upsetting the insecure teenager demographic that gets freaked out by the NOTION of there being different kinds of sexual preferences.

jesus, the only defenition of "partners" is lovers now? Come one, people, don't be so cold hearted, they could just be very very good friends

I thought so, too.

I didn't really think so, but I guess now that I think about it...

By now I'm wondering why it is still an issue. The Sims have had gay-couples since the very start of the franchise. Riley and Ellie in The Last of Us have it for eachother. I think that decision by Naughty Dog was really gutsy. Hell, even Shepard could lie down with Steve, who's grieving for his dead husband, rofl. All your Dragon Age characters could be gay.

We have to be careful that LGBT doesn't become a stick to beat with as opposed to it being under-used in good taste, if you ask me.

Of course they were gay! Christmas Duck from 'Gone Home' is right there by the tree, and we've got 90's Kid's Cartoon Conspicous Diversity in the cast of both seasons including representation of most races and religions, strong female characters and an autistic kid. It's a little on the nose, especially when the bad guy is a White Heterosexual Male. It would have been cooler to have a Woman Driving The Threat for once.

I'm just waiting for the zombie in a wheelchair.

I thought he was his adopted son....
Yeah, I kind of realised that two of them were meant to be in a relationship and enjoyed it being portrayed without using any stereotypes as well. As with Bill in The Last of Us It was good portrayal of a homosexual character.

Apparently you can't be very close friends with someone without it being assumed to be sexual. They may or may not be gay. Having a close relationship does not automatically mean its sexual. Perhaps they were like brothers to eachother?
