Would you survive a zombie Apocalypse?
So I was thinking as we're gamers we sit on our ar$e and play video games I personally think we would be the first to eaten or last or a few weeks max.

Fill out your stats in this format:

Height: 181 cm

Weight: 65 kg

Age: 19

Sports you participate in: 2nd dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (quit three years ago, so I can't really say I'm a black belt as I'm no longer a practicing one), I go shooting, I play as a attacking midfielder or as a left sided midfielder in football (soccer), horse riding (stopped 4 years ago).

Walking Dead Character Most Like: I'm a posher version of Bonnie, as I apologize a lot.

Strengths: I've got a aim with a gun and bow and arrow, I know first aid, I can know where north is by looking at the sun and I know martial arts

Weaknesses: Strength, I care a lot about my hygiene, I can get stomach illnesses easily and I have long hair, I wear glass

How long will you love for: A week or first to be eaten, as I would probably sacrifice myself to save someone else as I know I wouldn't survive the apocalypse.

"Walking Dead" the TV show loses me a lot since it's so "unrealistic." I mean "unrealistic" as in there are 100,000,000 M16s in the US owned by private citizens. The zombies wouldn't stand a chance. If you allow for the fact 99% of the population is now zombies somehow, they still wouldn't stand a chance. They'd be eradicated in months.

Most people who think they'd survive a Zombie outbreak wouldn't.

I'm guessing the people who will survive will be the most cowardly and the sneakiest.

I'd love to say it would be the brave heroes but I think they'd end up sacraficing themselves to save a lot of people.

can you guys do a stat thing for yourselves as this is what I made this thread for?

Heh, a few years ago there was an article on some major website (I forgot which) that studied whether or not a zombie apocalypse could actually happen. According to them, an apocalyptic event would not happen if a zombie plague were to occur due to several reasons:

1) Guns. Yeah, goes without saying. The US have over 50 million registered gun owners, and that's just the registered owners; it's said that unregistered owners number twice that. Even in other nations with more conservative gun control laws, there are enough guns in the police and military to take out any zombies that may spring up.
2) The environment. Zombies are dead, and they rot. Within weeks they'll be mush and wouldn't be able to move around too much. This is very true in hot climates such as tropics and the desert; rotting, putrid corpses won't last long. Also take into account the super cold winters in many regions, and you get frozen zombies.
3) The zombies themselves. Zombies as a life form are doomed to failure. Think about it. They're the only life form that's completely dependant on another life form for surival. Zombies need humans not only for food, but for reproduction. Not only that, but humans are the zombies' main predator; this means they have to hunt the most dangerous animal around to eat. Zombies are a crap life form evolution-wise, and they are doomed to extinction.

Height: 168 cm

Weight: 65-ish kg

Age: 15

Sports you participate in: Dance, boxing and.. hiking? does that count as a sport?

Walking Dead Character Most Like: I'd like to say Clem or more so Lee when it comes to decisions seeing as they are usually (for some unkown reason for me) the most trusted to make reasonable judgements and decisions that are quite fair. But mostly like Kenny emotion wise.

Strengths (from what I've been told): I've got basic idea of guns and was an okay shot last I went shooting an assult rifle; I am a competant camper and an okay survivalist in Australian bush lands (minus finding food other than fish) and in the water; a fairly good judge of character; apparently likeable (or most likely mistaken with manipulative/being good at getting things from people or make them like you); I know CPR and a few minor first aid treatments like dealing with broken or dislocated bones; strong willed; selfless (both a weakness and a strength); fast, hands on learner. Is stubborn a strength or weakness?

weaknesses: I'm not all that active (although I can be when it suits me), back problems, depression (I'm quite reliant on others for emotional support but as long as I have people to live for I can't let myself go), selfless, manipulative/prefer to talk and reason than fight physically (could also be a weakness or strength), I value hygiene highly (I can't go with out a shower a day unless I absolutely have to- eg when camping), I find it morally hard to kill any living thing (but can be really defensive *cough* huffle puff *cough*).

How long will you live for: it depends on who I have with me and where I am at the time of which it happens but definitely no longer than a week or two.

finally someone who is posting in this thread, instead of talking about zombies being unrealistic, of course they but it doesn't stop from talking about whether you would survive in the zombie apocalypse.

On another note I'm the same when it comes to hygeine, I need a shower or a bath at least once a day, twice in the summer.

Angelic_Cross Jul 25, 2014 @ 8:19pm
it's not a matter of wether it would or wouldn't happen but just a general "what if the zombie apocalypse did come about?" don't add in logic! xD haha Logic does not exist in the conversation! Oh and as for the gun thing there are a lot of OTHER countries that have more strict gun laws and bans for example here in Australia- so you have to remember that the USA is THE only country in the world just saying.

I shower once a day in the morning and again at anytime in the day if I've been sweating excessively. For me it's more the fact i can't go without brushing my teeth. it just feels so bleghr :P

I'd love to experience it. Hell, I might be an optimist, but I think I might've survived for a long long time ('till would Winter kick in, then I'd freeze to death)
Not that I have any survival skills, of course. Using common sense and quick thinking, which are two of my favourite traits that I happen to have, saves and always did save lives.

Height: 167 cm

Weight: 86 kg

Age: 25

Sports you participate in: Did Wrestling for awhile. Some MMA. Tennis. Olympic lifting. Anything that doesn't involve throwing I'll be decent at.

Walking Dead Character Most Like: Not sure. Maybe Chuck, he's a loner like me but also doesn't mind people. We both like alcohol.

Strengths: Some gun training. I'm stronger than average. I rarely lose my cool. Pretty tolerant with people. Everyone says I'm smart, so I'll add that I guess.

Weaknesses: Partial autism, while I tolerate people I can't say I get along great. I'm very non-emotional. Too pragmatic, perhaps. Know very little about general survival skills.

How long will you love for: If I find a good group I think I can contribute a lot, but on my own not very long due to my poor survival knowledge.

Survivors would have to be very careless in terms of emotion. They would have to mourn quick and sacrifice others without a seccond thought. Another thing, they would have to be agile and fast over strong. Smartness helps too. As long as you really don't care about others, are smart and quick, and don't have any unlucky incidents, you could last.

That's nice but top trump yourself

Height: 166 cm

Weight: 59 kg

Age: 15

Sports you participate in: Basketball

Walking Dead Character Most Like: Probably Omid

Strengths: I'm fast, moderately strong, and good at making friends. I also make quick decisions.

Weaknesses: Parents never took me to a shooting range no matter how much I begged so don't count on me to be good with a gun. I have asthma and a nut allergy. I don't know much about survival and I'm rather impatient.

How long will you live for: This isn't something I can answer confidently. If I was on my own, I'd probably die on the first day.
Delusion Jul 26, 2014 @ 8:20am
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Age: ??

Sports: Nope. Does weightlifting count?
Character: Either Molly or Jane
Strengths: Fast, strong, good reflexes. Smart as Lee.
Weakness: Loner. Willing to work with people, but also quick to bail out if things do not look good. Loyal to a point, but will not go out of my way to help people until they earned my loyalty and respect. Being ruthless and showing no mercy to bandits may be a strength or weakness.

Life expectancy: If I survive the early days, I'll probably end up like Carver (minus the violence) or Tavia.
Sero Jul 26, 2014 @ 8:52am
It's the Apocalypse!
The question is not IF you die but WHEN you die and maybe how.
