They killed him off because of Lexi porter shipping clem and luke together (cluke), so they decided to kill him off because of the hassle. (Im guessing they didnt want their game associated with any hint of paedophilia. ♥♥♥♥ing Lexi Porter)

Luke was an amazing character because he was like clem. A kind heart, but knows what has to be done. He was so damn likeable.

Why else would jane of all people, be placed above Luke who found Clem and helped her all through the season? Shes entirely unlikeable because she was in the game for what, 3 seasons?

Imo the ep5 was rushed and you couldnt really make your own choices and cant save people. For example I didnt steal the supplies from arvo but he told his guys that we robbed him BUT I CANT SAY "We didnt ROB YOU!" and I can't shoot him when he was right next to the car I just get forced to talk to him to get shot by him.....

It's not out of the question that they recorded that scene before deciding how complicated it would make development (It would add a whole bunch of varient scenes which they might not have had the time to include).

They've previously re-recorded dialogue from scenes before. The original version of Kenny's final scenes in season one actually had him dieing. But they re-recorded it and changed it. While there might have been a potential plan for Luke surviving. That is just a potential idea and doesn't mean he was meant to survive.

I read something similar to that where it had the same context just more in depth. There were only two planned endings in which it would be Kenny or Luke (Jane was originally supposed to fall into the ice). The endings would've been based off if you saved Kenny or Luke during the blizzard (the filler context wasn't explained up until that point aside from it being stated that Kenny and Luke wouldn't have been at each others throats and developed a mutual partnership) Also, the leaked Kenny or Luke choices were supposedly real but with the Lexie Porter crap going around TellTale decided to scrap that due to possible lawsuits they wanted to avoid and rewrite the ending. Be it fake or real, I have no idea, but I wouldn't doubt it.

My guess (if this was a considered thing) is that Telltale asked themselves "Who do we want the two end game teams to be?" and some rep was like "Psh, not Clem and Luke!" Then they high fived and downed apple cider in cups shaped like Clem's hat.

I know Luke was originally meant to survive, but If Telltale honestly decided to have Luke'c character scrapped, after all of that time and build up over one repulsive and disturbed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shipper? Originally I'd heard that they scrapped the entire Kenny vs. Luke conflict because of the choices being leaked, which is also incredibly stupid on their part. It wasn't as if the near entirety of the fandom didn't see it coming long before episode five. Oh. Wait.

While also a dumb move, I'm going to keep hoping it was the latter.

I think it's pretty clear they planned this season to end on a Kenny vs Luke choice, but changed it to Jane for some unknow reason.
