The game may have some likeable characters, but they're all a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ compared to the intelligent, well-rounded and believable characters from the books. Clemclem may have that hard-ass mofo' stare, having survived 2 years of the zombie poxiclypse, but the game still forces us to do all kinds of stupid ♥♥♥♥ like stepping over zombies and walking past loosely shuttered windows/fences, just for that "oh noes, I've been grabbed again" sequence.
"What's that Clem? You wanna chase a rolling water bottle into a stall? Best leave that clunky gun behind, it's HEAVY. What's that Clem? You're unarmed and searching an abandoned camp for food? Don't bother picking up one of those pots or frying pans to defend yourself, they're not food!"
But it's all part and parcel of the game's linear and predictable storyline, where none of your choices matter. Did you just manage to save a member of your party? Good job! Oh, and spoiler alert: they're dead within two episodes.
Game's still a fun experience for an interactive movie, just wish all the best bits weren't ripped straight from the comics.
I don't have the patience to get tiny bits of story here and there, either. Find someone to borrow The Walking Dead Compendium Vol. 1 from. Or take the plunge and buy it, it's definitely worth it.
Someone who holds the same view point is rare these days.
Glad people like you still exist :)
Why not; it's a part of the universe and canon.
Also, what about the TWD books?
I own the first three books of the comics (which I regret buying). The comics are so simplistic, not to mention that the female characters have no real character from what I can tell. In the first few issues, all the female characters were looking for some guy to bang. There is nothing in the comics (books1-3) that stand out to me at all.
The show started off slow in season 1. Parts of season 2 felt like I was watching a soap opera, but mid-point season 3 to now has been pretty damn good in my opinion. I'm also looking forward to season 5.
The show isn't part of the shared canon of the books, game and comic. As it's an alternate adapation.
Well fine, it's in the same universe and is Kirkman's baby, if I can say that without sounding weird :D
I'd still call it canon though, but yeah, it doesn't share the canon with the game, comics and books. The books weren't good now that I think about it anyway, except for the first one.
