Xbox 360 Controller Mapping?

Supposedly you can remap the controls directly in the menu but it appears to be broken here, I can only remap the mouse buttons. So I've dug around and found the Xbox 360 control scheme for the game and got to editing the registery @

HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Activision->Gun->Controls->Player1

And manually editted all the controls by hand after figuring out what the hexadecimal codes were for each controller button, but I've ran into a snag, what SHOULD be Axis 5- (right thumbstick up), it reports as Axis 8- in game, so it doesn't work.

Am I the only one with this problem?

I am a derp and forgot how to count in hex for a second and was using 0x10 after 0x09 instead of 0x0a... still can't edit the controls in game for whatever reason, but the following is correct none the less

30002 = Axis LX- (Left)

30003 = Axis LY+ (Down)
30004 = Axis LY- (Up)

That seems odd, as I just finished installing the game and remapping all my controls. I did have an issue the first time, as I missed clicking the accept button, but as of 10 minutes ago, My controller set up is really spot on, not editing needed.

Yeah I have no idea, it refused to let me click on an action and press a key like you think it would, I went through all the trouble to manually edit the registry to get it to work. lol It works just fine in game now at least, though some of the command prompts like the intro "press <bind> to enter quick draw to shoot these doves!" the <bind> was blank, even though it was bound.

I am completely ignorant when it comes to this hexadecimal thing and how to map the controller. I want to buy the game, but only if I can figure out how to use my 360 controller on it. Can one of you give me a step by step or possibly a link to a tutorial? It would uch appreciated. Thank you!

It turns out the in-game menu works just fine (the default control map is completely broken though, look up an Xbox 360 manual or the 'normal defaults' here:

I was using the "wide screen" fix which made the main menu kind of wonky and I also have my Windows primary mouse buttons reversed (which I only have to do if I don't install Razer Synapse but I haven't got around to it on my current Windows install, woo left handed mice!) which GUN didn't work with at all, once I reverted the wide-screen patch and unswapped my mouse buttons I was able to configure my controls the normal in game way.

You should be 100% okay :P
