Maybe the problem is your OS, Windows 7 pretty outdated anyway.

Anyway, I got it to run by doing... literally nothing. I just reinstalled it. It doesn't need fixes or patches or whatever.
Well that's great!
Ugly?? This graphics looks gorgeous for 2005 era!
Sadly no, there isn't much out there to mod or patch this game. Most of it for stuff like the widescreen fix is linked here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Gun
There is also a recent ReShade profile someone uploaded, that improves lighting a little bit here: https://www.nexusmods.com/gun/mods/1
The frame rate is fixed at 30 FPS, but it runs a smooth 30 FPS pace.
Considering when this game released, Original Xbox was still the norm, as well as games locking to 30 on PC. Although not all parts of it have aged well - in it's day it was stunning and top notch. Still a great game if you can get past its aged shortcomings.
I played it on Xbox and Xbox 360 back in the day, and I've recently gone back to play the PC version. The 360 version is also a fantastic port of this game.
Same here. I remember I actually bought the 360 VGA cable to hook it up to my PC monitor to compare the two versions back then. 360 port was superior in a few ways.
