I've heard the same thing about Paradox of Hope sometimes, but I like the backpack from S&S better. Besides, the backpack is not just a visual, it's a very important game mechanic that so many other systems in the game depend on. Both PoH and CONVRGENCE are designed in such a way that they need a backpack with slots. So sorry guys :)

I hate zombie backback, the dev hates Radius backpack :sadelf:
It's not really fun when you can't take any more toilet paper for selling

At the very least allow us more slots then. Perhaps let us carry as much as we want but have the items be weighted and limit movement some other penalty. Heck overweight can introduce an injury system like Project Zomboid. What I like about Into the Radius backpack, you can be greedy but expect to walk for a long period of time losing a lot of stamina.

Just like in Paradox of Hope you will be able to buy larger backpacks. It's part of the progression

Gotcha, cool. I managed to purchase the game prior to takedown but haven't played it much as I have a ton of games to play first. Guess my game hoarding habit paid off.

Would it at all be possible to have an ITR style backpack, but with the carry limits of S&S? Like, having free placement, but only being able to fit a certain amount in it, and any excess items just fall out?

It is possible, but I don't think that's going to happen. Such a mix of systems will likely only confuse players

While I did like the ITR backpack more, it was basically unlimited in capacity besides weight. It's super fun organizing your bag though. Gotta keep the cigarettes handy.

They both have their positives and negatives. ITR allows some organization, but S&S allows for easy access and probably less bugs. ITR bag has an issue (for a while now) where items would move to the center of the bag causeing organization to be extremely difficult with alot of items.

I think that's a feature, sort of.

ITR backpack moves items to the center when you overlap them. You're supposed to carefully fill the backpack and organize it without clipping them into each other. When they clip they both get "nulled".

What that has the side effect of doing is making the backpack "overstuffed" where if you want to pull things out that are in the null zone you need to dig through the pile. Imagine it in real life like you're sorting through a bin of random trash. In ITR this is you pulling stuff out of the null heap.

Nah that ITR moving stuff around is a bug. It does happen when stuff overlaps but people were saying it happens when you let the bag close manually by walking away. I would avoid it by putting stuff in while holding it and putting the bag away and then pulling it out immediately and see if it stayed, anything that moved I would place it back where I wanted it and try again. As unrealistic as this was it felt more unrealistic for the bag to move stuff to the outside of the pack behind it.
