Buy and play Intravenous 2 first.
You don't need to play Intravenous to understand Intravenous 2.
If you like this game, then wait for the future Intravenous 1 remaster DLC coming to this game.

Definitely get the game now, Intra-1 isn't required and it'll be released as a remastered DLC soon.

playing IV1 is not required, but its also a good game and it will make you appreciate some parts of the plot better
alternatively theres an IV1 remaster coming in a few weeks that will be part of IV2 as a DLC

whichever of the two you choose, its not mandatory but i see no reason not to play IV1 before IV2

They’re both good options. IV2 has a lot of nice improvements but honestly none of them are essential or all that groundbreaking compared to the original. The gameplay is just as good in both games and the plot is just as shallow. Just pick one and enjoy it.
