rgr that, its been a minute since my first playthrough.
I absolutely love this game man its a masterpiece. Music, game design, and story all 10/10 dude.
possibility for Intravenous 3??
depends on whether i can come up with an interesting story and cool new gameplay mechanics to wrap that story into :)
Not a very creative person myself, but I'd say you already have enough gameplay mechanics to build upon. If 3 happens (which I hope it does, no pressure though), the logical appraoch would be to just expand what's already thare. Larger maps with multiple objectives, night and day mission choice and social stealth options, maybe a selectible insertion point - something like Camp Omega from MGS Ground Zeros. Story? Have Steve take on a Mexican drug cartel, make the campaign non linear, where you select which cartel operations Steve takes on to dismantle it bit by bit... And as Steve makes himself known to the criminals, they become more erratic, they panic more often, start shooting at random at the feintest sound and so on. Mabye involve the CIA at some point and their shady deals with the drug lords, but turn it into a kind of "lesser evil" type of choice where bringing justice to the agents would result in more chaos and civilian suffering? Beside that, just add a coop mode and you can basically start browsing the Porsche catalogue lol.
Anyway. You have made a wonderful game that is probably the best thing I have played during the last decade - no joke. The AI alone makes Intravenous 2 own every damn exceuse for a stealth game made up until now and it also makes for a great top down shooter for those without patience for sneaking. Whatever you decide to do next, I'm buying it blind.
Including a side mission.
The last mission is called epilogue.
Just saying, I absolutely love this game. One of the funnest and most addictive games I can think of in recent memory. What I love about the sequel is that it basically just took the good parts of 1 and made them better. It stayed faithful and streamlined QOL aspects.
And for some random story ideas / mechanics
* Sean's as a bodyguard type mission. Maybe something where you have loud missions to defend a VIP who's inside of a panic room.
* Randomized assassination targets. Like a Rogue-lite style contract. Could be something like playing as a random contractor from Empathetic, with their own loadouts and skills.
* Flashback stories to Gideon or any other character who has a military past
* Playing as an undercover agent, Choices made during the game affect certain outcomes (Similar to Tom Clancy's Double Agent Loyalty Meter)
