Can't buy any weapons or enter the attachments menu (yes, I pressed the X button and I have credits)

As title says. I used to be able to do it but, for some reason, I can't anymore. I'm playing on the steam deck oled using the default controller layout (X button is literally the X button).

it seems to be an issue with how the game uses the controller. i switched to keyboard and mouse template and I was able to buy weapons and get into the weapon customization screen.

have the same issue switch between controller and KB+mouse does not work for me, neither does restarting

this is a common bug where gamepad and keyboard mutually lock each other out.

REALLY, this should just be an option you can turn off.
