graphics flickering

Hey so I just got the game, started it, and had to see almost all the graphics flickering (e.g.: intro movie, menu letters, characters and objects in the game). This clearly seems to be a compatibility issue because the game is so old... so I tried all sorts of resolutions, all sorts of compatibility modes, external/internal monitor, administrator mode, integrated/dedicated graphics,... no solution in sight. Any ideas, or anyone with the same problem? Cheers!

I bought the game just now as well. And i also have the same problem. I REALLY want to play this game again. Brings back so many good memories. But with this problem it is impossible to play. Permanent flickering...

Same problem here.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bits, NVIDIA Geforce 540.

What kind of flickering? Are the colors going nuts, or does it literally flicker (going black/white superfast)?

I just found out that this game just don't run on the newer graphics-cards so for you to really play this game then you have to go into the desperados folder witch is inside the steam folder and then run the game on the intergraded graphics-card. Do this simple thing and the game will run as perfect as when you played back in 2001. If you only have one good graphics-card on your computer then you just have to wait for the developers to fix the game in a proper way.

I solved my flickering / cursor trail problem by running in XP Service pack 3/disabled crossfire and ran as admin and it works so far.
