Windows 10 best fix (faster than ddwrapper)

Download https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases and put ddraw.dll to the path of the game

Only problem: can't start directly from steam, only with game.exe

You dont need to run anything else.

It only worked the first time i started it up from .exe

It runs excelent and I can finally play.
I prefer this help because I do not have to install any unknown exe.
However, you must ALWAYS start the program directly with the program exe in the matching game folder.

But then it always works!

I chose not the latest ddraw.dll but the last well-functioning version

m8ts can any1 help,my game crashes every time on the loading screen does any1 know how 2 fix it?

Thank you, I was able to start directly in steam, putting in compatibility mode (WinXP SP3) and running as admin, worked perfectly.

mine still doesnt work very well, the mouse starts getting slow after a few seconds

Wow, it feels awesome not having to do some annoying workaround for the game! THANK YOU. One of my favourite games from back in the day and its amazing to play it without it crashing randomly.

Props to the developers who made efforts to fix it over the past little bit - they tried as best as they could and most developers of a game that is almost 20 (!) years old wouldn't even bother. Not sure if this fix is on the part of someone on the development team or not; if not, they were certainly inspired to find anything to solve the crashing problem.
