You can decide to just focus on leveling your Captain and that will get you through the early waves but if you do not spend serious effort doing all the other things then good luck with the later incoming waves.
Complex? certainly, but also not just another cookie cutter base expansion/tower defence with simple winning tactics that get tiresome after a while.
The most fun I have had getting swamped by goo in a long time!
There's a good amount of stuff in-game now that if you are interested you'll probably be able to get a good amount of enjoyment out of it. You could always keep waiting and letting the devs cook (as the game still has quite a bit of stuff still in the pipeline), but the game's current state is pretty solid.
There's enough Captains to give you a bunch of different playstyles to choose from, there's enough Unit customisation to give pretty good variety, and there's enough maps to give you a solid amount of unique experiences. If you think you'll only look at the game once, you might want to let the dev keep cooking, but if you think it's a game you might be willing to revisit in the future then by all means, give it a try.
Thanks! some games i do deffo come back to i suppose when i thikn about it.
Does this game have an endless / survival / wave like mode? then im gonna hop in i think lol
It's basically a once per map kind of deal to unlock Endless, and there are some other unlocks tied behind doing this anyways, so it's very much a two birds with one stone kind of deal. That aside, if you've ever played skirmish/survival maps in They Are Billions, you'll find the core loop here is very similar, but with some extra goodies that make it a bit more interesting overall (due to the whole "space" theme).
