Dark Fall 1: The Journal

Dark Fall 1: The Journal

Scratches
Scratches is the best horror adventure point-and-click game I've played. That game left me feeling very unnerved, so how does this series compare?

I think the Dark Fall series will leave you unnerved too. However, you kinda solve the problems at the end of the game but you will still have unanswered questions. You should play DF:The Journal first then Lost souls. DF2: Lights out is a different storyline.
For me, they are the best adventure games and The Lost Crown. Exactly my kind of stories.

I've had Scratches on hard copy since it came out and love it as much as you. I have only played Lost Souls so far, but it put me through the same tense, scare as Scratches. The story line is different, of course, but the puzzles are just as hard and that "nightmare feeling" is still there. Also, Lost Souls, is just as unpredictable as Scratches, maybe more so.

Never played scratches. But I can say that the atmosphere is definitely spooky. But not horrific. Like you wont be throwing up if you have a weak stomach. But you will be thinking twice to go to the next room you just heard a noise from. Or to venture forth with a light flickering, etc. it plays with your mind, without trying to give you a heart attack. And the puzzles do not require you to be a NASA engineer to solve. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Truly the only Point and Click Adventure I have bothered to stick with. Even beating or getting to the last part without having to cheat or check a walk through, although I did have to write things down and check things more than once sometimes. And it was worth it!
