BTW All hail the bear community!
Yay! Thanks for your feedback!
I totally second that! I LOVED LOVED LOVED this game, its artwork and its music.
Same happened to me, at the end, the last three.
I third this :) The music and artwork in this game are awesome.
It was just a minor annoyance at first, but it's really starting to grate on me and it's starting to happen to other characters too, their heads and hands moving around and doing whatever their action is meant to be while their bodies just stay ramrod straight in a fixed location. I've tried the lowest graphical settings and every kind of combination, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've considered uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don't know if I'd lose my save game if I did that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would have loved if more attention was paid to the revelation that Laura was actually communicating to David from beyond the grave. A little more backstory on Angela's obsession with David would be great, too. And I was a bit confused by the "Bride of Frankenstein" thing after the credits. One last things, and maybe I'm nitpicking. Near the end, when David has his mask off, Sam reacts to his face. He mentions that it's bad and she agrees, but I only noticed some very minor redness. Not a huge issue for me, but just thought I'd mention it. I expected serious burn scars.
Despite all that, I do not regret purchasing this game and would absolutely buy a sequel if one was made. :)
So that girl comes to a house where she's not expected but in there there is "Sam's room".
No problem for Sam to squatter that room and introduce that rodent full of parasites and amoebas and to park her motorbyke in the garage.
Then, one shelf she can't open. David's room where she does not want to enter.
So............she's OK to own "Sam's room", to enter in the Office, but she won't enter David's room for morale reasons, bah !
Same downstairs : she won't enter the kitchen because someone is in there ! OMG, i want to enter in the kitchen, to give apologies, to ask where i am and if i can use the phone.
But no, i can't, so Sam enters the office where she finds nothing usefull, next room closed.
Last room to investigate : the dining room. Nothing to do, nothing to get.
Ouside : same absurdity : nothing do find near the extra house and garage.
Then that "oh my goodness, how can be so stupid heroin" refuses to go ton the entrance to see if there is some information there.
To sum up, but an enormous amount of items to click on and useless descriptions.
The only potentially usefull things are blocked
Nothing seemingly logic to unclunch here or there, just reading endlessly "oh, people seem to like books here" same-like.
Plus : all the items you have first to select then to use.
Plus : no information about the magic book, cards and the rest...
I'll have to hang on to give more time to this game. My Detective alter ego is quite frustrated...
==> i retried the next day. then 3 days later. same song and dance. I clicked on everything.
Is this a find the right pixel on your 24" displayer game, or just a joke ?
I fear my evaluation will be the worst of all times for such a game.
Dunno if the problem is that i never was a 12 years old girl ?
I fear my niece would have killed me should i offered her this game.
1. How did she bring that rabbit and it's giant cage on a motorcycle?
2. What was the point of the extra secret points? I didn't notice it do anything.
3. Everything Heisenberg said about the ending, especially that it wasn't clear what events were caused by the wife's spirit (I assume at least the RNG was, since it implicated the villian), and what parts were caused by the villian.
4. Spoiler David, a professor that studies brains for a living, had to look up info on charts to know "what part of the brain" he was looking at on an MRI. It made him seem uneducated in the field that he was supposed to be gifted in
I just finished the game, and that's all I can think of for now. Most of it is stuff to think about if you make a sequel, since I doubt any of it is fixable in the current version.
It's so raging to have to do this so early in a game.
So, it's what i feared : when outside, i had dragged my mouse cursor over the garage door to see if i can enter it.
I just did not find the right pixel to show the operture.
So : 4 rooms or places with nothing to act on except 50 stupid item descriptions, but one pixel somewhere to unlock the rest.
= makes me thrown. I like to investigate, find logic things to do to unclunch the following step.
Not that ( very rude word withheld by my politeness) !
Thanks!
I'm having the same problem too; using the link given in the forum for technical support gave me the advice to update my video drivers, which I did, but nothing changed as a result.
That problem seems to be very rare. Normally people doesn't encounter it again if they replay the situation. I've uploaded two savegames. The first one with the mouthpiece with the horn still selectable (at least at my system), so that you should be able to see what happens if Sam blows the horn. And one after what happens when Sam blows the horn (in case it still don't work on your side). Since you can do most things in chapter 2 in a different order and I don't know what you've already done the horn thing is the only thing already done in chapter 2, so that you don't miss parts. But you have to replay the things you already did in chapter 2.

Download the linked Zip-archive and extract the files save000.sav & save001.sav from it. Copy the files save000.sav & save001.sav to the subfolder 'GrayMatter' of your 'Documents' (Win Vista/7/8) or 'My Documents' (Win XP) folder. You should be asked to overwrite existing files (otherwise you probably have chose the wrong folder). After you've copied the files the savegames are in the first two saveslots (you may have to scroll to the beginning of the list).
If you don't want to replay things you already did in chapter 2, you can upload a savegame and post the link. I can the possibly create a savegame that matches your savegame but without the problem. But this would take a few days.
Another hint: With Gray Matter you should follow two additional rules:
- never create a savegame while you're in a closeup view
- never use the map while you're in a closeup view
In case you want to know why - I've explained the reason for this here: Link
@DaH:
This is a common problem for graphic solutions that don't support some needed graphic features. Either because the graphics chip (GPU) don't support them or because the graphics drivers don't provide the needed software interface. This is especially common for Intel GPU's but also happen with very old NVidia/ATI GPU's. For the Intel GPU series called Intel HD graphics normally an update to the newest drivers from Intel helps. Sadly some notebook/laptop manufacturers block the original Intel drivers and only allow modified graphics drivers (modified to match the look & feel of the manufacturer) based on obsolete Intel drivers to be installed. Can you tell me what kind of GPU (manufacturer and model) your system is using. Or if you don't know that what kind of system (manufacturer and model if it's an notebook/laptop) you're using.
