What to do when broke?
Wanted to see what other people do.

I sit around until I can get the 250 free chips or the game give you 250 hidden chips. So now I have 500. I played roullette. Bet five times on red. Black came up 7 times in a row. Not my day.

I think I will try to go to WAR next time to see how that works.

A good idea would be the following: Every time you pick up your chips, you spin the "crazy8"-slot 10 times on the lowest bet and "save" the rest. You keep 170chips and risk 80 chips. Many times you do so you will win more or less the amount you spend (80 chips for 10 spins). In that case, you spin 10 times again - the 80 chips are already "dead". Sooner or later you will be lucky and make a big win, lets say the 10 spins cost you 80 chips but you win 300 chips. In that case you should re-evaluate the situation. You may say to yourself: I saved 170 chips and risked 80, now I was lucky and have the 170 chips I saved plus my "riskmoney" which grew from 80 to 300 chips. I am gonna put away 180 of the 300 and re-risk the rest. Repeat until you run out of "riskmoney" and never touch the "savemoney".

The trick is to have your "savemoney" constantly growing. If you do so for a few hours, your chipstack might grow to a few thousand chips or more plus the login-bonus, the daily-task earnings, the superslot and the possible earnings from the free poker and the free bingo games.#

If you are patient and not too greedy you might find yourself with 15-25k chips after a week which puts you in the position to make a higher bet every now and then. If you know how to play the game you might want to buy into a 5K-Pokergame... 1st wins 17500, 2nd wins 6750 chips or so. Many times you can easily become 2nd by playing it very "tight" and defensive and just watch the other 5 players taking each other out of the game.

Roulette is far too expensive in the begining. Wouldnt touch it before I own at least 5k, so that a litlle "downswing" like the one you described (7 times Black in a row) wont completely ruin you.

Have fun!

If you can build yourself up to a few thousand, you might give a shot at video poker. When played optimally, it has an expected rate of return of 99.54%. But it is very important to learn the right plays before you start. I would suggest visiting Wizard of Odds[wizardofodds.com] and learning at least the basic strategy if you want to go this route. Don't forget free bingo (bottom of every hour) and poker (once a day) as well.

Whatever you decide, make sure to learn the average rate of return for any game you think about playing. Playing games with closer to 100% return will let you play longer, on average, while looking for the random big win.
I checked out the Wizard. That's the way I play. I had 20,000 but started to get greedy and increased my bets. I have to learn to pace myself.

Crazy 888s. I love that slot. I make most my money on this one.
I will second Wizard of Odds. I hit the big $0 at one point too, but managed to build myself up to about 250k over the next week or three. i'm about to hit VIP2 after reaching 1 last month. Bankroll management is key, i tend to not wager more than 5% of my stack at one time, but I do get more agressive when i'm under 20,000 chips.

I was able to build up mostly through Blackjack. With optimal strategy, the blackjack in this game has approamately 0.52929% house edge. Roulette as a comparison has a house edge of over 5%! If you can get to play the Single Deck Blackjack, the house edge is actually -.046%!!! That means the player has an advantage in the long run.

Best games "by the book" :

Single Deck Blackjack -.046%
Video Poker: .46%
Blackjack: .529%
Baccarat: 1.06% on the banker bet, 1.24% on the player bet, and 14.36% on the tie!
Craps: Complicated, but someone in this 1-2% range if you only bet Pass / Dont Pass. Odds wagers are offered at 0% house edge. Definately worth reading about, but you tend to need a decent bankroll. With correct betting, I believe the house edge is lowered to around .55%
Video Blackjack: I'm not sure of the exact edge, but it tends to be around 2%. This is because they tend to not pay even money on BJ. I dont know the exact rules or odds of Four Kings Video BJ.
War: 2.88% when going to war, 3.70% when surrendering, 18.65% on the tie!
Roulette: Ever bet other than 0-00-1-2-3 has the same edge, 5.26%. Dont play the 0-00-1-2-3 bet, the edge is considerably more, 7.89%
Slots / Big 6 : Slots are probably the better pick, big 6 has around an 10.5% HE when betting on "one" but it gets much higher when you bet on the long shots. I do have fairly good luck with the 888 slots, especially 1 cent full line pulls. Always do max lines if playing slots.
Keno: Around 30% -45% house edge. Maybe a bit less considering there is that bonus ball, but this is a bad bet in general.

Bingo is a bit tougher to put a figure on, but its probably around 20% in the long run. This really depends on how many people are playing too, and if you like bingo. Take advantage of the free games, 500 games, and even the 1000 games in my opinion. Might not hit, but it eats up some time.

Poker: No house edge, they take a bit of your buy in. You can really clean up on poker if you know what you're doing.

Other general stuff: Never bet side bets, including hardways in Craps. Sure they _May_ pay off, but chances are too good they wont.

There is always the option of buying chips too! If you enjoy playing, there is no reason not to support the developers. If you do though, be smart and read up on the games. Hopefully you can bring that bankroll back up through careful play like I did! I did intend to purchase chips, but now I dont think I'll need to. I did buy some small flair things to show support.

Oh! And of course you can just stay logged in and collect the free chips. In two hours you'll have 2k at least!

Bon Chance.
Astounded by the fact that keno is such a bad bet. I made a fortune on those machines, so i must consider myself lucky. I always play 20 or 30 rounds of Keno on a 100$-bet when waiting for a free poker-table. If I have nothing but two or three 4-hits in 30 games, I like to play another block of 10 games on a 1000$-bet. This may be voodoo-thinking but I hit a big one plus the bonus-ball twice on such an occasion, which boosted my bankroll beyond belief..
I've just made a guide that summarized my post for future players. Yes, i too was amazed at the keno odds. I don't know the exact chance of getting the bonus ball, but i think it is 1 in 640. edit: Keno is basically the game you play in vegas when you're eating a meal and the keno runner comes by :)
by the way: I finally got my tinfoil-hat. This is one of the funniest easter-eggs I have ever encountered in a game. Very good job, devs!
