Blackjack deck?

How many decks are in the blackjack game? The rules mention both multiple decks and single deck.

I had heard that the games on the main floor were multi deck, but in the VIP area it was single-deck 1 vs dealer only. But I just went into the VIP area and the blackjack table has multiple seats like the ones on the floor. So now I'm confused.

In BJ you have 8 decks as in main floor and vip, in vip you also have a bj table who only use one deck (single), and is shuffled after each hand. So “single” means 1 deck, not seats.

so there are two different types of blacjack tables in VIP? ill have to look again, i didnt see any difference

There are two kind of BJ's tables: the classic one can be found in BJ Room with bets from 50 to 2000 and in VIP Room with bets from 1000 to (?) 10.000; the "single deck" one can be only found in VIP Room. The only difference between these two tables is the number of decks used: the first one, as David has said, uses 6 decks; the second one, as the name itself says, uses only one deck. Both of them are shuffled every time the players leave the table and it is empty.
