You can choose to spend real money to buy chips and other stuffs, but you're not forced to...!
Devs have to earn something, of course! That's why there's the possibility to buy; also, some people don't like to earn chips in the "hardest" way (playing a lot), so they choose to buy them!
You only have to choose! ;)

Im not Certain, But the Only Way Real Money will Ever be Involved is if the Dev's Add the Abality to Rent a Tourny Room on the Main Floor, and to Be Honest the Only Real Problem that Maybe an Issue after They Add Tourny Room to the VIP's is the Guest Passes, i think 3 a Month is Enough!! any More than that, and PPL will be Able to give 4 ppl a Pass witch is, all Passes Once a Month for a Single 4 Man Tourney, still its Better that They Have VIP 2 & 3 or What Ever Cuz by The Time you Pay Your Way through to VIP 3 your Spanding 150 Dollars Or More Just to Play Poker Tourny With Only 4 PPL a Month, Witch Most Likely Wont Work Out for the Guy Paying for ALL those Extra Chips too Have 3 VIP Passes
