Game keeps crashing on startup- Error code: 0x8876086a

Hey guys, when I first started playing the game I got this error

Vailant Hearts Error:
Create DirectX device Failed
Failed to create Direct3d device Ex!
Error code: 0x8876086a

Failed to create DirectX
May your drivers are outdated

After this I made sure I had the latest DirectX, and I thought I installed the lastest drivers for my graphics card and video card, and the game magically worked for two seperate occasions when I started it. Now I'm getting the error message again, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and a bunch of other stuff but nothings working. Can anyone help me out?
