it's not really a problem. People just don't want to download it and it bothers them. It barely takes up any space and it's not a big deal. I mean if it bothers people so much when they finish the game they can just delete Uplay and that's how easy it can be...people are stupid nowadays.

i just... hate uplay. so much. there's no reason for it to exist.

It's not that I hate Uplay, I just hate the fact that this might actually be a trend. First Steam, then Uplay, then Origin. Unlikely as this is, we might end up having +30 different publishers crappy online services installed on our computers.

WE JUST NEED ONE EL PUBLISHERS! PICK THE ONE YOU LIKE AND LETS STICK WITH IT! (Honestly, most think Steams the best... or the least evil, but at this point, so long as it's one united service, I don't give a spam.)

This link may help you. It just helped me with Might & Magic VI.

UPlay has caused me enough trouble in the past I treat it as a barrier to purchase. It's unnecessary for a single player game. Sorry Ubisoft but you can consider this an actual lost sale. I was intrigued by the game design and story, and was swayed by some great reviews, but UPlay pisses me off enough decided against purchasing it.

Yes it has Uplay, normally I have no issues with it but in this case it is stopping the game launching correctly. I have had a support ticket open with Ubisoft for over a week now and apart from some pretty pathetic attempts to provide suggestions for a fix (update drivers, kill every bacground process, etc) they have not been useful at all.

Here is a link to a thread where other users have been having problems:

http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/540744936451471634/

Note the thread is not in the forums linked from the game page because until a day or two ago it had no forums of its own (an oversight by ubisoft).

In the case of this game it may not just be the usual uplay naysayers who speak up on it being an unwanted addition to the game :rcry:

Whelp I won't buy it because uPlay and it's a shame too because this seems like the sort of game I would normally buy.

Hear that developers? I won't pay you money that I otherwise want to because of uPlay. Does that register at all with you? I'm not alone, I am the voice of millions.

I wonder why they require Uplay when you buy it on Steam? It's redundent, and completely unnecessary.

At least they let you buy it on Steam and don't make it a Uplay exclusive, like EA do with their games on Origin.

Complaining won't help. Instead try to figure out what is happening. From EA to Steam to Uplay to Rockstar and windows live when they get bigger as a franchise they will become exclusive. Only thing to deal with them is " always by games at least half priced ", this will slow them down.

That's just them being smarter than EA. EA are idiots trying to compete with Valve by having all of their games on Origin where no one will ever even see that they're for sale, that's the sort of genius that has caused them to lose over $10 Billion Dollars in the last decade, and the same sort of idiocy that has many predicting that they'll be bankrupt by the end of the decade.

Ubisoft may be the European EA, absolutely horrible towards consumers and utter morons in many ways in their own right, but they're smart enough to know where the money is and how to get it. They're also basically "poaching" or trying to anyway, their hope is that by FORCING uPlay on their customers through Steam they can get customers to start using it instead of Steam.

It won't let me play the games I payed money for, that's why it's a problem.
