For anyone that's having textures flickering problem
Hey everyone, I don't know if anyone else here was having this problem with the textures flickering in black, but I finally found a very simple solution that solved this problem for me and hopefully will solve for everyone else.

Here are the steps:

1) go to to your steam/steamapps/common/Marc Ecko's Getting Up 2/_Bin folder
2)right click GettingUp.exe and select properties
3)go to Compatibility and set the game to run under Windows XP (Service Pack 3) compatibility. I also set it to run as an administrator, just in case.
4)do the same steps for launcher.exe
5)Enjoy your game.

This fixed all the textures problems also when playing with the proportional HUD set in the launcher. Hope this fix the problem for you too, this is a very underrated game and a true gem.

when i go into my files i cant find "GettingUp.Exe it's just not there, i only have the Launcher application and the other files that go in that folder, so when i do your trick to fix the textures it doesn't work.

Well, that's odd. The .exe file is in my game folder. But if that's not working for you, try to download a fix file that can be found here on steam (I'll search the link to post here), the file there also helped me before this other fix.

Edit: here's the link for the file:

http://enbdev.com/convertor_dx8_dx9_v0035.htm

Try pasting this on the same folder as your game launcher.

I also found out that 720p resolution doesn't give me flickering or camera problems
Thanks, that helped a bit. Much better, not perfect but anyway. The z-buffer fighting with the graff is still somewhat wonky...but i guess thats to be expected with a game as old as that.

As far as I have gathered, one can not eliminate it entirely on modern systems. It will get a little better but there is always some spots that suffer from flickering. Guess for the time being one has to live with it.
I assume there is a slim chance that a somewhat exotic setup with a custom NVidia inspector profile could get rid of it, but so far my search for it has come up empty.
I wish this game would get a remaster or source port or something.

I've fixed the issue by using dgVoodoo2: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html
Replace the D3D8.dll in the _Bin folder.

Now, if only I could fix the tool/weapon circle disappearing on higher resolutions.

I know the post is old but just an advice for whoever reads this, at this point, it's better to just emulate the game, pcsx2 gave me the best results so far.
