And? It's a a classic game availble for 3 bucks. The original didn't support online multiplayer, it's not magically going to be there now. The primary audience for this game is people who grew up with it and want some nostalgia.
You claim that creating good netcode and implimenting it in an older game that didn't support it is, "Not exactly hard". Netcode does not write itself magically and this isn't a full remake, which obviously would cost more than the few dollars this costs.
Steam supports digital version of classic games now, deal with it.
