Making it work for a mac

I purchased this game when I had my last computer and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately my new computer is a mac, which wont work with the game. However after doing a little research I discovered this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKsgKqhz6uo which if accurate will allow me to play the game. Here's my problem, steam wont even let me download the files because it does not work with my current platform. Is there a way to force the download, beacause I haven't been able to find a way online. Any help would be appricated ^_^

If you own the game, there isn't anything wrong with eh, "borrowing" the game from someone. And by "borrow," I mean "torrent."
