The Camarilla and Final Nights Editions.
SO, has anyone played these versions?
How do they stack up to the normal game? Some of the new mechanics, such as the blood loss and the slowed regen seem annoying, but other stats now seem more important. Blood dolls, for example, are quite important if you install this. What did people think of the mod?

I am playing Camarilla right now, and so far I like it. The blood loss is not fast enough to be annoying for me, and a lot of nice skills are now free to cast. You are supposed to regen through the new skill. It seems like it is probably useful at high levels for melee characters, but I am probably going to leave it at level one on my Tremere. I think it heals about 2/3 of my life over a short time at level 1.

One thing I like is the, other than useful skills that don't cost blood, is the online college; It removes books from the game and allows you to gain skills in what you want, when you can afford it. Basically, it takes out the tediousness of trying to not miss skill books or use them at the wrong time, which is great for people with the compulsion to make near perfect characters.

That is pretty cool. Although I can see running out of money, but you get the skills you want so that is pretty neat. The blood loss thing seemed like it would be an annoyance but the extra skills seem worth it. I'll have to use it my next playthrough.

I haven't tried the Final Nights but the Camarilla mod is pretty cool. I've replayed twice with it. I really like the college, and as for running out of money it's never happened to me. It's a bit more challenging and offers a refreshed playthrough if you've played vanilla too many times.

Yeah I really do think I have played the Vanilla version one tooo many times. I am playing clans I haven't beat the game with yet and there is little difference between the clans other than play style. I was hoping The Camarilla Version or Clan Quest Mod would fix that in a positive way.

I've really enjoyed Final Nights.

Even with the added pedestrians, my Setite has no trouble feeding; Serpentis 1 is free, so if I can get a secluded area with only two pedestrians, I can hypnotize one and feed on the other. Sometimes, walking down the street, I hypnotize people for no reason just because it's funny...

I had real fun with the Baali and Salubri. Although it's a challenge managing my Baali's Humanity and my Salubri's Masquerade violations, Daimoinion and Obeah both turn me into a melee juggernaut. On an out-of-character level, they also have the funniest interactions with Strauss, although that's really only relevant if you know the lore-- Strauss doesn't act any different (which is exactly what's so funny about it). On my Baali, Presence was surprisingly helpful on stealth missions.

My Samedi was also surprisingly good at melee. Thanatosis is a surprisingly good boss killer, with Enervation and Necrosis simultaneously nerfing the boss and buffing the Samedi (I was able to melee the boss vozhd in the sewer spending only two blood, something I hadn't managed with any other clan), and Compression gave me the easiest time with Romero's graveyard quest that I've ever had (although I've never tried it on a character with Celerity; it took me around twenty-five blood and five attempts to finish as a Nosferatu in the vanilla version; my Samedi got it in three tries with four blood).

I haven't gotten as far on my Assamite, but I'm a little disappointed in Quietus so far. I probably won't try Ishtarri or Osebo, since they don't get any unique Disciplines.

I've never really used the Blood Dolls, since I can feed perfectly fine off pedestrians, my ghoul, or, if worse comes to worst, sewer rats. However, I've found myself maxing out Haggle almost first thing because it makes skill books and body armor affordable. I also find myself putting points into Perception and Investigation because some items just plain don't show up if Inspection isn't high enough.

The blood timer is a slight annoyance, but one that belongs in the game. The only time I really find it troublesome is when I go straight from a tough fight to a long conversation in Lacroix's office. I really wish the timer didn't run during conversations, because I'd really like to hear all the great voice-acting without starving into torpor.

I don't know exactly what they did to the Frenzy system behind the curtain, but it made frenzies relevant. In the vanilla game, I'd never frenzy unless I was already in a hopeless situation to begin with. In Final Nights, frenzy is something I have to genuinely worry about. During my Baali's rematch with Andrei, I actually frenzied the first time I got het (then came back to win the fight).

I'll probably try Camarilla Edition eventually, but I plan to finish with Final Nights and then try the Clan Quest Mod first.
For the record: both are brilliant. Camarilla is probably the better of the two though.

I also like the companion mod - but some claim this makes the game too easy. But the companion mod actually adds new ways to get companions (hence the name) and I always thought that was awesome.

The same place. ModDB or some other site. Just make sure you change the installation folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
