Hi, I'm at the Quest Slashterpiece right now and have to defeat the Blood Guardian now but am not able to do this as it looks(I have a knife and the gun from the Pawn Shop). Have you any tips?

I have played as both gangrel and tremereand killed him with the knife both times. just keep hitting as fast as you can and try not to give him a chance to counter.By that piont in the game I usually have not gotten anything really deadly to use on him so I kinda was stuck with the knife

I'm a toreador and defeating the Guardian looks pretty impossible to me.

Edit: i did it.

Blood Guardian is a walk in the park compaired to some of the things you run into .

I've done it as a Gangrel, Malkavian, Tremere and Brujah. Haven't tried the more social Ventrue, or Toreador :-/

Well if ventrue are so social maybe thay can post a video of it on facebook and shame it to death.

Toreador are the social ones, Ventrue are the bussiness people/commander type.

Know I've done it with ventrue, brujah, and tremere.

I"ve done it with a Toreador and can' remember problems. Celerity is your friend :)!
Don't spam the attack key. If your melee is too low, you can't finish a combo. Also, if you finish your combo, the enemy will likely hit you during your recovery. Strike once or twice and then run like a chicken.

Blood Buff. The extra dex and str will help. Also, all your other disciplines will help too (Celerity, Presence, Potence, Fortitude)

Don't forget about blood packs when your health and blood are both low.

If you have Obfuscate, you can jump up and down behind a painting and go hidden. Then sneak up behind him and you can stealth kill him.

If you have any trance-like Discipline, such as the Dementation which makes them laugh (I think Dominate and Animalism have similar powers), you can cast it on him, walk up behind him, and stealth kill him.

If you have Thaum, you can spam attack on him while casting the second level to incapacitate him. I think it takes about two casts to finish him off.

That strategy for the Tremere Thaum is pretty much true throughout the whole game when playing a Blood Sorc Tremere Build >.>

Toreador: use celerity+presence (I have never used blood buff in combat, costs too much for the effect), dash in, slash twice with the knife, dash back out to make guardian whiff his attack, repeat.

Now how quickly the guardian lashes back depends on your combined celerity/presence levels, so adjust accordingly. Celerity makes you faster and presence makes the opponent attack less often. These combine to what I think is the most potent combat discipline combo in the game. (ironic that it is Toreador, neh?)

ps. guardian is definitely not a 'walk in the park' when you are just starting the game, but thankfully you can do many other quests first and get xp. It will be a long time before you run into something as dangerous.

Blood Buff is mostly if you can't even finish an attack combo because your melee is too low - you will get deflected, stunned, and then countered. If you've never had to use it, it's probably because you build your character such that you don't run into that issue. But you're right, the 3 BP cost bugged me enough to change it to 2, which I find more reasonable given that it was already nerfed in the Plus patch. Also in vanilla/Basic patch that discipline is super powerful.
