How do I get the armor from Heather? (SPOILERS)

I heard through the grapevine that Heather supplies the best armor in the game. How do I get it?
I accidentally read a spoiler that heather has to die in order for me to get the armor.
Im at the apartment and its given me the option to tell her to stay inside, but apparently that'll hinder me from getting the armor. Is that true? Id prefer her to be alive.

It may depend on which version of the game (mod /patch /version /basic /plus) you're playing.

Bloodheal discipline reveals the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch. You can check Options Gameplay for Patch versions around 9.0 or later, or check character creation in New Game for older versions. Look under the clan badge.

Edit: Also vtmbup-readme in the Bloodlines folder should show latest version/changelog.

So I have 9.2

Not sure why I installed that. by the time I patched the game 9.3 was out.

So, does Heather have to die?

Also, do you know if patching the game to 9.3 will corrupt my save?

Yes, updating the patch is NOT good, unless you'd like to start over.

Yes you either get free armor or a live ghouly (plus her death always seemed wierd for caster types like Ventrue and Tremere and celerity clans).

I believe you can still buy the body armor from chinesse "herbal" remedy vendor.

And Mercurio in the Santa Monica hub as well (might be plus patch only though).

Only him and only plus and only very late during the Bloodhunt. A penalty it should be ;)!

Not really a penalty as having ghouly around at haven is usefull inbetween final missions, especially if your Ventrue.
