Fale positive. What's your AV? Get rid of IE and download Firefox/Chrome. Running IE will make you more of a risk at malware than downloading the Vampire patch.

Well to be fair, IE has vastly improved and actually won "Safest Browser" from numerous websites this year - I use a mix of Firefox and Chrome so I don't use IE but as long as he's running the latest version of IE I see no problem.

They've definitely improved but their history is far too sketchy.
To dispel any rumours about viruses: no, there are none. The creator is a trusted member of the VTMB community and his patch has been used by thousands.

He wrote "official" so I thought he tried to downlload 1.2 from who knows where.
Fair enough.

Official patch? There's no such thing.

There is actually. Up to version 1.2 which is all Troika could manage to release before shutting down for good, but it's built into the Steam version of the game and it does not fix all the problems.

But it's absolutely not needed for the Steam version since Steam games are pre-patched with all the official patches.

If you not use Linux or have a Mac computer then it doesnt matter what browser you use since 95% of all virusses/malware are designed for windows systems
