Regarding Purge, I haven't had any trouble. How is it 'not working'?
I thought Auspex wasn't working for me either. At lower levels (i.e. in the tutorial when they teach you how to use it), isn't so powerful that you can just activate it and then see everyone through the walls. You have to get within a few meters.
So the fix for me was realising that it's just not that powerful at lower levels, and getting a bit closer to the enemy to see it.
Note: This is still useful if you need to know if someone is behind a door, or when they're in the corridor next to you etc.
My version of the game is patched to 10.3.
Install the game, download and install the patch. Run the game from the patch .exe launcher. You're good to go.
