I digged around a bit on Planet Vampire and found the links to the two kickstarters. The first one was shut down by CCP, the second one failed:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2144679402/requiem-of-the-night-a-modern-nights-vampire-video
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1868686619/sanguine-nights-darkest-blood
The guy behind these then worked with Project Vaulderie until CCP shut that one down too :(...
If these developers were scared, that is their problem.
Want the project to become successful, need to do something. Have you ever heard about Sanguine Night before they appeared on Kickstarter and failed? I don't. Although I have many years closely watching all that is happening around the World of Darkness and similar projects.
“God is the only being who, in order to reign, doesn’t even need to exist”
- Charles Baudelaire
The Orthodox Theocracy is a conservative religious organization, a sovereign church-society lead by a Holy Crown. The undead Orthodox believe in their kindred bond with the Maker, which is upheld with bloody offerings; they build a society where mortals are sacrificial lambs and their immortal shepherds take their rightful place according to the will of the Maker. Theocracy presents a possibility of a natural reconciliation with your predatory nature not just for everyone who joined its ranks, but for believers from other societies as well. As such, it is seen as a righteous path by many vampires, since it not only justifies the process of hunting (and the vampires’ attitude towards mortals as feeding vessels), but also sanctifies it: according to the Maker, their purpose is to feed Him and all of His virtuous children.

Organization
The Crown is represented by an autocratic Patriarch and the Holy Synod, which mainly performs an administrative function. The Crown controls the parishes, missionary organizations, church courts and the holy Inquisition. Unofficially, its influence can also spread to certain other autonomous sects and orders. Each new hierarchical advancement, achieved by the undead, can give him a completely new ideological concept that will make him feel like a true initiate compared to those below him on the social ladder. Thanks to this kind of organization, this concept of advancement and this well-implemented interpretation of the universe, the Crown is able to maintain its influence on the minds of even relatively accomplished immortals.
Society
The Orthodox Theocracy’s society is conservative and religious, many undead belong to numerous orders and missionary organizations; as a result, it can be likened to the European societies of the Dark Ages and more modern puritanical communities. The practice of offering sacrifices to the Maker, who created the immortals in His own image, has a special place in the society: elevated to a personal ritual in small groups (families), and to a bloody feast in the parish.
Habitat
The Theocracy’s infrastructure is based on the objects of Roman-Catholic Church, which are used by the Orthodox to remain self-sufficient and stay in touch with the world. Just like in the days of old, the Church offers a perfect cover; thanks to the religious myths about the holy remains of various saints (being kept in the church catacombs and guarded by its servants), the children of the night are never in danger of being exposed to sunlight.

Activities
Despite the general decrease of religious fervor, which began during the industrial revolution, The Orthodox Theocracy is still considered to be one of the most powerful communities among the vampires, thanks to its influence on numerous undead who search for ways to reconcile with their nature. The unique religion of the immortals gives ready answers to any number of questions with some of them presenting convincing evidence. The Orthodox puts a lot of effort to stay afloat, namely searching for credible evidence (which would meet modern requirements and support their religious sources), and destroying the social prestige of (or physically removing) the most notorious enemies of the church.
Economy
The main income of the Orthodox is the donations and church taxes from the Roman-Catholic Church in the world of mortals, and from the Orthodox Church in the world of undead. The Theocracy’s influence spans farther than just the territories under its control; every large city may have a couple of acknowledged parishes, although this creates arguments and dissatisfaction among the high societies of other sovereign communities. Nevertheless, little is done to oppose the church, which amassed such popularity among the majority of the population.
“…Honours, dignities, marriages, divorces, everything is now vendible by this monstrous head of the Christian Church. Benefices and ecclesiastical dignities, which used to be, and ought to be, conferred on worthy men for the salvation of souls, are now disposed of by open sale. There is no sort of outrage or vice that is not openly practised in the Palace of the Pope. The perfidy of the Scythians and Carthaginians, the bestiality and savagery of Nero and Caligula are surpassed. It is impossible to describe without trembling the monstrous lewdness, which is openly practised in the Pope’s own palace, or the filthiness of his sons and daughters. On the last day of November Cesare Borgia arranged a feast for the Pope with fifty honest prostitutes, and a scene of most horrible debauchery took place… The cardinals are silent. The Pope has driven the greater part of the Roman nobility into exile and despoiled the ancient Lords of Latium in order to provide wealth and principalities for his incestuous brood of children and grandchildren, some of whom are yet infants in their cradles”
- Letter to Silvio Savelli, 1501
Conclusion
The Orthodox Theocracy is not without its charm: the blood rituals, conducted under the domes of spacious gothic chapels and cathedrals, establish a solemn atmosphere and have the air of antiquity and mystery around them. Just like in the human world, religious postulates can stagger the high society, but almost everyone realizes the scope of Church’s power and its depth of integration into the social spaces of the modern world.

Let's be honest: this isn't the first abuse of power and it won't be the last and we hear about it all the time. Although I'm not invested in VTM lore I will say, however, what CCP did was and is complete crap.
When I first heard CCP did this I couldn't believe it and had to post a few of my incoherent thoughts down and ask questions as I was really puzzled myself... What material can one make without getting into legal trouble today?
Thank you Wesp as always for filling me in some more. Those links are great, although I think the second one is of more interest generally. I really think kickstarting things isn't the future and this is something that keeps being proved right on a daily basis.
To be fair, when Stephen made the first kickstarter, the description said the game was to play in the Old World Of Darkness, of course he couldn't do that without a licence from CCP! When Project Vaulderie started, Arthur intended to remake a still sold and copyrighted game for free, CCP couldn't allow this either. I agree with you though that it may have been a smarter move to give permission to both projects to keep the IP alive until they would do something with it...
If he said that then I can't really hate CCP too much then. I should've looked more into the matter but I just assumed he hadn't done anything wrong.
I mean doing something like that (basing a game in the OWoD) should send alarm bells ringing...
One thing you could do is add a singleplayer campaign and an online one (similiar to GTA but not as tedious) or perhaps have a main storyline that can only be done solely by the player. This seems more forwarding since it builds a sense of character of being a lonewolf or an unstoppable badass vampiric bastard (provided you can handle the "heat"" you mentioned)
I also want to question the point of method on how your story is gonna work. For example is it going to be a true RPG where your decisions, personality aswell as origin affect the consequences and how others percieve you? or will it be a tale-like linear story where everything follows a certain guideline. Another part that i want to target is will your characters (NPC's) be diverse with alluring backrounds and occupations, as in will they be as charming and interesting as the VTMB characters since most of the fans who want this game to be a reality, have come from aswell as the World of Darkness fans.
Also there is the diversity of races among vampires, such as will there be seperate factions and clans that players can interact with such as certain houses having fueds and wars, where you can choose which side you want fight for? It seems like it would allow the option of Clan wars where a group of players commence large scale PVP
And finally is the issue of Permadeath, personally i dont much enjoy the idea since i dont like losing my character forever. Is it possible to put in the Runescape effect (hear me out please) like when you die you respawn to your "hometown" with nothing but the clothes on your back and the empty air in your pocket.
Thank you for your wonderful work and i hope i get the honour to play such a lovely and rich looking masterpiece that finally steals the throne from the immortal VTMB. She is long overdue for a King to rule her.
~Sparrow
P.S. please atleast buy the character rights for the "Twins" from VTMB i really want to see them in the spotlight of gaming just one final time. ^ 3 ^
I suggest you post your ideas for the game and what you expect from it, here http://forum.projectdogmat.com/discussion/290/what-do-you-expect-from-project-dogmat#latest
Any in depth questions you might have, i suggest you post here http://forum.projectdogmat.com/categories/questions-e
I can answer here to some of the questions you asked,
There will be many different Vampires, each Sabbath is a faction.
Examples would be :

Greetings, Kindred! April has been a tough month for us, so we had to work extra hard to bring you any kind of visual material in time. As we spent most of the time working on the code, towards the end of the month we have discovered that we don’t really have much to show. But, we did find something.
It looks like short videos are the best format for these kinds of demonstrations, which is a rule we will try to follow in the future. We have often been asked if you can purchase your own flats and havens in the game. The answer is yes, anyone will be able to do that, any character will be able to acquire personal living quarters in any playable cities. In the beginning, their function will be simple – this is your haven, your storage, your wardrobe and your place of rest. Here you will be able to get new information about the events in the city via computer or TV, and equip your character with the items you have.
We would also like to add the customization options to your havens – changing the furniture, materials and even full redesign. But right now, all of this is a longtime goal, as we don’t have the time or the people to develop this kind of content.
New engine
In the beginning of April, as we mentioned before, we finally finished our transition to Unity 5 (by the way, this is the engine the demo of the flat uses). Now the team can finally use its full modern capabilities and, more importantly, new physical shaders. We will have a lot of work improving previously created maps and textures, so that they can properly work in the new programs.
Other important differences of the new engine include greatly increased productivity on modern systems, which saves up a lot of calculating power for additional graphical effects. On the other hand, the updated systems of shadow processing raised many questions about their correct use. When created from the global light source like the sun (or, in our case, the moon), the shadows have indeed become softer and more realistic. But at the same time, local light sources, like lamps, can create imprecise lighting on surfaces and shadows don’t cover the surfaces as softly as they do in global lighting. These are the problems we will have to solve in near future.
Server optimization
Last month we have decided to focus on the server code. If we do want to create one game server that will support thousands of players online, the optimization of these components is very important. In the future, instead of just one physical server, we will need a cluster system comprised of a couple of machines. But that’s all in the future… at the moment we are content with having one affordable barebones system that we work and test with. Code optimization and the separation of some resource-intensive processes into additional streams of data processing (all hail the multicore processors!) significantly increased our ability to process data and carry out necessary calculations. Thus, we were able to achieve minimal percent of the CPU server load when testing with 10 simultaneously connected players – merely 1-5% even on a cheap tabletop system.
Crowdfunding
In conclusion, I would like to note that we are approaching the end of our preparation for the first crowdfunding campaign. We’ve finished writing and customizing the text for it; however, we still want to finish a couple of elements for the prototype demonstration and record a short video for the community and future sponsors. Soon we will begin the campaign on the Russian Boomstarter and we’re counting on your help and support!

No complaints about the game engine :)
Some of what you've posted admittedly sounds good and customizable havens has always been a feature a lot of VtM:B players have wanted. I'm still going to keep my eye on this project as I'm interested to see where this goes and I hope you come up with a better name than "Project Dogmat" sooner or later. All the best.
Thank you , i am glad you like it :-)
Everyone can of course have his/her preferences, but saying that ANY P&P RPG isn't fitting for multyplayer (massive or not that it might be) is something very stupid, as the core of all RPGs (not CRPGs) is playing with other people,
To put it in perspective, single player RPGs are what gamebooks used to be (and still are), multiplayer/MMO RPGs are what's closer to a pen and paper RPG.
That said, MMOs (all of them) have a big issue, you are not playing with your friends, you are playing with a huge crowd of random guys, the bigger the crowd the higher the chance to have in it multiple morons, starting with noisy guys, griefers etc ending with hackers.
Shadow-Queen what are you guys preparing to keep track of hackers, spam bots etc? How many people could your team possibly dedicate to this task?
I took care of these aspects only once, for free, on a NWN2 shard (after years spent on NWN1 shards), it was a nightmare, never again (unless hired and properly paid for it) and we are not speaking of a huge shard which were anyway smaller than most MMOs on the market.
Sorry for the wall of text (and the typos).
p.s. Cited NWN 1&2, 'cause in over 30 years of gaming, those are the only games that managed to give me the vibes I get when I play a P&P RPG with my friends.
So like others have said, it will be a boring, fetch-quest, dumbed down for the masses, crappy MMO. No thanks, this is NOT the spirit of VTMB.
