What is people's opinion on antitribu mod?
I downloaded and installed it back when it launched, but due to RL commitments I have not been able to play it basically at all. I did start a tzimisce character, but I was disappointed in the shortness of the clan weakness timer. I consider the downside to be way too big compared to the upside. But I haven't played enough to have an opinion on the mod itself.

What is everyone else's opinion on antitribu mod? Good? Bad?

Well the did release a 1.0.5 hotfix that extended that timer iirc. Also version 1.1 was supposed to release near the end of February to fix bugs and such, but idk if that came out on time. It's a good mod, has a lot of fun stuff in it, and it does make the game harder with combat perhaps too much so for people who like playing PCs with some social abilities.

However, while I have yet to finish my playthrough just due to playing other stuff for awhile, it's worth checking out if you're looking for a fresher take on the game. It's also far from complete atm. There's a lot more they'd like to add to the game, including completely new areas and hub zones, but that's in the future. Right now they're trying to fix the numerous bugs and things people REALLY don't like(like the jumping puzzle to get into Grout's Mansion they added).

Thanks for response. I may have to look up that patch I guess. Maybe its a good thing I havent been able to play yet - when I can the problems might be mostly fixed :) I can imagine that the developer errors being made here make the game harder to play. If those are too difficult/annoying, and particularly if they are difficult in a way thats not really intended, they can put off people from playing this.

My main issue with the tzimi timer was the combat areas where you are locked in, such as barrens when trying to find nossie haven etc. PARTICULARLY oceanview hotel, since it has exactly zero sources of blood inside that you need in order to heal wounds, and has every item in the place hurt you a little bit. Maybe the modders could add some rats in there or unlock the front door while inside? When I tried it, even with speedrun speed and coming straight off the haven, I couldn't even get as far as boiler room before I started taking damage from the clan weakness. I was also half-dead at that point and seems like normal regeneration is disabled either completely or because of the tzimi weakness. Thats just silly, not sure how its supposed to be done without a heap ton of blood packs.

They're at version 1.09 right now. The heath thing is probably a bug, because you should be regenerating it right back. The only time it becomes a problem is when you're trying to do something like feed and it kicks in, because it interrupts everything you do.

Personally I'd still wait, it needs a lot of bugfixing. I gave up fighting Brother Kanker because one of his new abilities causes him to be unkillable if you kill him while the summon is still running about.

Even with the standard UO patch, the health doesn't "regenerate right back". It regenerates, but very slowly. Slowly in terms of the tzimi clan weakness at least. The main issue is that there are no sources of blood inside the oceanview hotel and that you are locked in once you enter.

I played once to completion, as a Lasombra, but skipped many side quests. I did get the Kanker bug, and worse, an infinite-loading screen bug that seemingly permanently ruins certain saves with no rhyme or reason discernible to me; luckily those only occurred about 3 times though. Otherwise, no major problems. Content-wise, I'd rate the mod as decent, but nothing that makes the game feel entirely fresh again, since new disciplines really can't compensate for the relative lack of new dialogue. Not that extensive amounts of new dialogue, either written or voice acted, should be expected from any mod; rather I'm saying that it's hard to reinvent the wheel after so long.

To be completely honest, and this could just be bitterness and depression talking, but sometimes while playing I felt a bit pathetic; like I was trying to prop up the corpse of an old, tired game solely because the game industry has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over vampire fans for so long (CCP's gross stupidity and indifference aside, others could have tried to fill the void by copying themes from the WoD settings as much as legally possible).

Also, Bloodartist: you used to frequent a site called wodnews.net, correct? Unless there are two Finns named Bloodartist who like vampires and anime avatars. I always wondered what happened to that site's members. Did it simply implode around the time WoD's cancellation was announced, and everyone scattered to the wind? Or did the core active members relocate, and if so, where please? Not sure I'd have the heart to talk about vamp lore anymore, but I'm curious.

I am the same person. The person who ran that site had problems with the hosting service (it was very unreliable and bad), and the site was eventually taken down. Me and other people who frequented the site kept contact with each other in google hangouts (still do, but we also have a site in enjin.com where we run play-by-post chronicles. Currently on hold cause our ST is busy irl).

It's good to hear you stayed in touch. I was mostly a lurker on the old site, so I didn't make any friends; but sometimes I miss the interesting discussions and polls and such.
