Problem with a tangled web

Hi all, im having a real problem with the quest a tangled web,
When i go into metalhead industries and i try to activate the schrecknet hub, i get a message saying something along the lines of 'you blew it you noob' and that schrecknet is disconnected, so i cant progress on this quest. does anyone have any help or advice to get this sorted and i can get this quest over with?

Are you getting spotted? One of the conditions of that quest is that you can't be seen by the Metalhead Industries guards. All you should have to do is sneak into the first floor office, get onto the computer there to unlock the office up the stairs, then get into that office, unlock the safe and grab the Wooden Pull Toy from there. THen you activate the schrecknet hub and sneak out without being seen.

i've been sneaking and i havent been spotted at all, i dont get why it keeps coming up

Did you continue an old game save after upgrading to Unofficial Patch 9.0?

Not sure what to tell you then. There's either something you're doing wrong, or the game's just bugging out for a reason I can't understand. Maybe someone else will know.

I just had a similar problem with the Nocturne theatre. I completed the mission successfully and was not seen, recieved the exp reward but my log says I failed the mission. Is there any way to reset these so I can start over?

I have the same problem, unofficial patch 11.4. However it is still possible to continue the quest by using this console command after reiceiving the fail notice by Mitnick:

G.Shubs_Act = 3 and __main__.FindPlayer().SetQuest("Mitnick", 7)

UPDATE: Actually the command did not work as intended. While it would show the quest completed and reward 2 exp, I would not get any further emails from Mitnick for continuing with the Tangled Web quest.

I tried something else and it actually worked. You have to enter the following console command BEFORE entering the schrecknet command on the Metalhead operations computer:

G.Shubs_Botch = 0

Then just enter schrecknet and receive the correct message:

You're a regular James Bond. Check your email soon... I'll be in touch.

Thanks, that really helped. You can type G.Shubs_Botch to see if the game thinks you were spotted. I have a suspicion that this is getting set to 1 in the escape portion of the previous mission. I remember getting spotted *leaving* Nocturne Theater after completing the mission and thinking there was no consequence, but it’s likely G.Shubs_Botch was set to 1 at that time, causing a failure on the next stage of the quest.
