That is my thinking, I never use mods. But I get the impression that the extras are not mods but just fixes and additional quests. So gameplay bug fixes if you will.
Could someone elaborate on what the extras are (at least besides the SDK and other resources for creating more levels etc)? What is added to the game above Vanilla and how does it impact the game?
I mean we can research it, so of course you don't have to. I just thought I'd second the question since I'm new to the game. Otherwise, how could I really know if I feel I should use it over Vanilla.
It seemed to me that it added and restored some new levels, some only of which were actually finished or created. Added characters and quests that were found in some partial form on the CD. Added some abilities and so forth and more to the character development possibilities that were either partially already in the resources or needing modification to work etc, but not in the initial product, and so forth. It also suggested it may have changed the mechanics of some elements of the game because they were hinted at, or not working as well, etc.
That to me, on the superficial level of understanding I have, seemed worth it. But I have no real idea what the actual spells, or quests, or rewards, or mechanisms were, how they affect the difficulty of the game, and so on.
Probably there is an existing web resource for this. Perhaps someone could suggest a good link. Thanks.
Go to properties, updates tab and select do not update.
Install Wesp's Unofficial patch 9 as noted, i would advise the plus version
Here is the v9.0 link -->http://www.sbock.net/upload/VTMBup90.exe (credit to sbock)
Widescreen mod is built-in, so you can run 1080.
I also installed "The Raving Malkavian" mod for obvious reasons while questing.
You can set in your video card software (Nvidia control panel) to max AA & AF for VTM.
Now install SweetFX, and use this preset -->http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/666/
For a total rehaul, try "The Final Nights" mod -->http://www.moddb.com/mods/vtm-the-final-nights/downloads. Viola, you have a modded, updated, patched VTM with superior visuals and enhancements. Wesp still updates the mod to this day, v9.0 was just released.
I hope this helps guys!
Yes, but I was wondering what the best option is, not what the extras are.
I've installed the unofficial patch Plus ( v. 10.9) and extras but the widescreen toggable it's still nowhere to be found in the options.
Did you by any chance, made it automatic in the v.10.9 ( you don't have to toggle it anymore) or am i missing something?
Yes, this is set automatically if you choose a widescreen resolution.
