Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Frenzy or Humanity?
There are 2 ways to play the game: be controlled Vampire that the Beast have almost no power over, or Sabbat-like Dark-Inhumane Vampire.
You get different dialogue, more "Good" as you keep your humanity high, or "Evil" as you have your humanity low.

Me, I prefer low Humanity. Although, it does sounds hard to be Dark, it isn't. It's much hard as if you were Good, even easier when you're gangrel (you're a tank when you combine Frenzy with Gangrel Bonus). Sure, you frenzy more when you're Dark but it doesn't break game so much. I usually go frenzy when low HP at battle, which gives an powerful edge on your enemies. I rarely go frenzy publicly as I keep my Blood level high, and you usually frenzy when you are both out of humanity AND blood so I can say no to Masquerade Vioations. New Dialogue gives a fresh change, and it just....is better. You feel more like an evil Vampire, than some lowly kine. (At least, I found playing Low-Humanity Vampire fair)

My question is, what is your prefernce and if you want, why?

I prefer Humanity. I can still choose 'evil' options but be one of the more elusive Vampires. Bram Stoker's Dracula was always far more appealing to me than something along the lines of Nosferatu.

Killing is easy.
True masters of evil are manipulators.

That said i am roleplaying a relucted vampire so my humanity is sky high.
Yeah... I prefer a higher humanity myself. The great thing about the game, though, is that you have the choice!

I'm playing an angry Brujah, wanted to try to be the real villain for the first time and it's great :D I like both styles, depends on the clan/mood I guess :)

I finished the game like a million times before and this is a nice refreshment.

I have to admit I don't like the thuggish dialogue with low humanity. Look at Pisha and Andrei, one can be refined even while being monstrous.

Honestly even on low humanity I rarely had detrimental frenzies, but I tend to prefer humanity.

Actually I think my worst I ever had with frenzy inccidents was playing a caster tremere early on and that was more low blood induced frenzy than low humanity.

Yes, but being a Vampire is about being a monster. Even if you behave not to be.

Man kind isn't 100% good. They do sin, they do make evil deeds. Kine is vampire's food, just like Men's lifestock. We, in real life, eat meat that came from animals that are dead just to makes us happy (Unless you're a vegeterian) They are cruel just as vampire could be, only that vampire has more power than human and may do in more violent way.

Vampire is a monster, it has monster inside of you. That monster can give you incredible power, he uncovers who you truly are. You can even deal with the monster, you can be one with the beast if you are gangrel because they understand how beast works. It's your other half. It's you within.

I always keep my Humanity high because I dislike the idea of loosing control greatly. Also because I fear of breaking the Masquerade.

Masquerade is a bit harder to keep high when on low-humanity, but it's not hard as most people think. You won't enter frenzy randomly when walking the streets, usually only when hungry. If you keep the blood points high, you don't have to worry about anything. You would enter frenzy anyway if you had low blood points, no matter what side you're on. It activates only when low on hp (Only Low-Hum) or low on blood (Both). At least that is usually in my case.

Also, you don't lose control greatly. It's an instict. Something that everyone has. An animal has instict, human has an instict. It's just the choice if you want to listen to it. It's not bad.

Yeah, I prefer the humanity, had my Gengral frenzy against the Kuei-jin you fight at Foxy Boxes and it cost me the fight, which turned me off that concept entirely. I also am just a nice guy in general and try not to be an ass to people unless they are asking for it. I'm looking at you, LaDouche. And yes, I always send the thin-blood to stake him every playthrough, because social Darwinism is an essential part of Un-life.

Humanity doesn't go below 3 points though right? Kind of a shame that other side is underdeveloped.

I had a 3 Humanity Tremere, Suspyra was her name. She was pure evil and my favorite character. She would be nice to get what she wanted and then turn once she had it. She killed a lot of innocents too (like humans blocking your way into somewhere or when one made a smart remark to her). She was a blood magic assassin and she was damn good at it.

She sent Copper after LaCrotch, killed Julius, sent Gimble to Vandal, sent Patty to Pisha as well as the T.V. show guy, then killed Pisha after getting both occult items. She slaughtered everyone at the Giovanni Mansion that she saw including the innocents. Wiped out the guards on the Dane, etc, etc. She killed Yuki after fighting the Hengayokai. She killed everybody and God I loved her. Awesome character.

Okay apparently it is possible to go below 3 at certain quests which involve humanity being taken away.
My minimum is 2 right now. Lowered it by sending Patty to Pisha.
Look forward to conveniently use the Sabbat ending by this honorable homage.

I think this is the minimum, as a humanity of 1 would mean you give in to the beast and can't control yourself anymore. Which in Bloodlines would mean game over!

Im on my first playthrough so theres a lot to the game I havent found out yet. Playing a gangrel, if I were to frenzy, how much of an advantage or disadvantage is that in a tough battle? Ive never had a character frenzy before.
