Any way to gain new disciplines without the console?
I find it interesting that if you add new disciplines (e.g. celerity to a tremere) the character sheet recognizes this and adds the new discipline on the next line below the original three.

Is that because I am using the unofficial patch? Or was the code there to allow vampires to earn outside disciplines already? Maybe Troika planned these as quest rewards that were never implemented?

This was already possible in the original game and I even found an icon "New discipline gained", so Troika planned to do this at one time. Which is why I made it possible to gain one additional new discipline from Beckett in the Unofficial Patch plus :)!

Oh, wow...shame Troika never really got the game to where they wanted it.

Also, I didn't know that! What can I learn from beckett?

I didn't know that either. However I'm not surprised Troika had planned that since in the PnP game you could learn Disciplines outside of the three your Clan has a natural gift for due to your blood. Good to know they planned that since I always felt it was something that should've been included.

I never played the PnP game but my understanding is that one of the common houserules was that everyone could learn Fortitude, Celerity, and Potence. Makes sense since they are sort of "basic" vampire skills: strong, fast, resilient.

That depends on your answers when he talks with you about himself. You can learn Celerity as Gangrel, Animalism except as a Nosferatu, Fortitude except as a Ventrue or Protean as any clan. Of course this is only possible in the plus patch!

It's late in the game but Brujah with fortitude or protean is a serious melee beast.

Tremere with animalism sounds kind of cool too...goes with the mage theme.
