the Set launch options. Add "-console" (without quotes)
to the input box. You may have problems if running VISTA.
FREEZE/LOCKING ISSUES:
Using the console outside of the game menus can make the game unstable.
Specifically, displaying the console and then closing by clicking on the
[X] in the top right corner of the console may leave the mouse pointer
disconnected from the target hair. Re-Eable/Hide console using the tilda
key to fix.
If you begin to type a command without finishing and then close console,
it may freeze. Freezing/Locking is mostly unpredictable.
If this happens to you; open the console. Hit enter a few times and then
hide. if the game is still frozen, hit ESC to go to the load/save
menu. Returning to the game from the load\save menu always unfreezes the
game. I have also been told that entering "chareditor" into the console
window will un-pause/unlock the game. (Especially usefull for non-English
keyboards).
- Mod Dev Guide by Dheuster
This issue is listed in my version of the Vtmbup-readme.txt
"Occasionally you may not be able to throw the grenade from Nines."
After testing the command myself and some investigating,I realized that I had experienced this issue as well on my playthrough, but this may be an acceptable workaround.
Move your character to a nice flat surface if possible (might help to switch to third person view).
Drop the grenade using the inventory menu - exit the menu.If the grenade falls through the ground/clips out of sight/disappears, use the console command.......................................... "give item_w_grenade_frag" (without quotes) to gain another grenade and move your character to a different spot and/or simply try again until the grenade remains.
If the grenade does not disappear and can be seen on the ground, add another using the same console command. The grenade on the ground will then likely vanish and be absorbed into your inventory reading 1/1. If so,you should be able to equip and throw it.
If then, the grenade on the ground still remains there, the grenade that's just been added via console command will most likely be unable to be thrown, reading 1/0.In this case try picking up or walking over the remaining grenade on the ground, this should do it for you,now reading 1/1 in inventory.
When the grenade in the inventory reads 1/1 and/or can be seen in the hand of the player in first person, it should now be usable. Save your game now.You can even try repeating the process to receive multiple grenades.
When attempting to use the console in-game, try using only the keyboard, not the mouse and GUI.Use the tilde key to open/close the console, and letter/symbol keys for commands, and the Enter key to execute. This seems to help keep the game from locking up, if it does lock up,try hitting the Esc key a few times and then wait for a few...This method should also work using the console in the menus.
With all (seven?) gun slots full, use the grenade command, receive "inventory full" message.
Use inventory menu to drop two guns, receive "Item dropped-Inventory full" message.
Apply console command again.
