Report a translation problem
There are a few ENB's and Reshade presets you could choose from; look on ModDB or Nexus for those if you're interested. Last I heard there was an RTX remaster in the works; but I haven't kept up to date on it's status.
I completely agree with Axle. In my opinion, mostly every attempt to modernize the textures so far ended up breaking the immersion because of the said reasons. Probably only a complete graphical overhaul of all the game's parts would be able to pull it off.
I made my own ReShade(s) with other intentions in mind. Instead of attempting at the futile modernization, I've tried to create one that actually sort of 'downgrades' the looks into something similar to VGA adventures of old, and the other one that kind of 'shifts sideways' into something different altogether—a XIII, Wolf Among Us, Borderlands, etc., inspired re-coating.
