Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

while waiting for contact with wesp, true bloodlines enthousiasts, feel free to chip in :)
Only for experienced players! Spoilers may be ahead, though not that much.

So, ever since I first played this game, I have been obsessed with it. I want to know every possible outcome, dialogue line, quest, et cetera. Another obsession is, making the perfect vampire! Even though some skills like subterfuge, inspection and hacking may be unnessecary after multiple playthroughs, I am on a quest to see as much of those dots filled at the end, and working towards a guide for just that. One that assumes you know the game and the quests. So, not a walkthrough, more of a rough guide to creating the perfect vampire powerhouse- for roleplaying goals, more than gameplay ones. But the patch changed so much, and the info you find is not up to date when playing with the 9.0 + patch. I COULD playtest it all, but that would take me AGES - so community, please help me :D

Ok, to make a long story short, I need info and mechanics! First, the 'rules'!

1. No cheats or console commands, that beats the purpose. I am a 'puritan' of sorts when it comes to this
2. book glitch is allowed though! I am a very peculiar sort of puritan ;) So, I will allow this one glitch, for it furthers my goals :)

Info I am looking for, using the latest patch et cetera:

Exact info on ALL occult powerups, for they have been changed, Braid gives wits, pearl gives charisma, just a few examples. Different from what the internet info gives me. So I need to know exactly what item gives what to avoid spending unnessecary points. Also, if the locations have been changed from the original, that info would be welcomed also.

Up to date info on books. The 4 to 5 hacking book requires research 8. Info from the net and players says 9? What gives? I need the exact figures on every book that requires high research :) A complete list might be nice too, for things have been added and detracted in the patch. And I wonder what I have missed.

Up to date info on benefactors. I found out, for example, that becket can raise scholar from 4 to 5, after the museum of natural history quest! Even while my info says he will not raise it past 3 or 4 (depending on the source). Same with Nines, he would happily raise my melee from 4 to 5, while my sources say he won't raise it above 3. Hurray for testing! Ow, and is Gary's quest that COULD raise your computer skills to 9 (or 10, but we have the book, it's so tricky to be perfect XD) Nosferatu only now, or not? This kind of stuff. I need to know exacts.

All in all, I feel like a character with EVERYTHING raised to 5 (assuming you will only take 2 out of 3 disciplines) is very much possible! And while not nessecary to complete the game, it would just be so cool, and stuff.

So, insights would be MUCH appreciated!

Greetings, a diehard bloodlines fan :)

I'm pretty sure the walkthrough included with the UP 9.0 is up to date in these things and has a seperate chapter right at the start showing all location changes and similar. If something there is wrong though, I would like feedback so I can correct it...

I never got any walkthrough txt, nor any options that should be there at the start that any info mentioned. Might be my comp just though?

Even the first tidbit of info (in the 'official 9.0 walkthrough) that I need is wrong:

Computer (5) (9) I could use it with 8 research, not 9.

I did install the 9.0 unofficil patch before any official patches. would that change anything?
Thing is, even with the wesp-patch 9.0 in mind, ALL of the info I find is just completely and utterly false :~

The walkthrough is found in the Extras folder if you install that and the research 8 for the computer book is listed there correctly as a plus patch change!

Even the walkthrough located in said folder:

Triplechecked - no mention of many benfactor/artefact/quest xp-skill boost changes in any guide or walkthrough, and I checked hundreds of those things before posting here

Ah yes. Walkthrough was a bit scattered but most of the (correct) info can be found indeed. Thanks! Some info is a bit of on the occult items btw; the braid charm still says +1 computer, though it gives +1 wits.

Some other questions...
Would anyone know if there are side quests that become unavailable after doing certain main quests? Because I realized you could actually net an extra point of experience for any sidequest that would give one 3 or more xp with the saulocept, unless they are intertwined with a main quest before the Giovanni mansion :)

And last question for now; does the heart of Eliza still give +1 melee? It seems to be the most worthless item in the game, since it's almost unavoidable to get to 5 more or less freely.

Thanks, I'll fix that. I moved it to wits because computer get boosted a lot already and with Wits you still have the bonus for hacking.
