I'm on Steam Deck, How can I make VMBL Run?
I really want to get this game but worried that it will not run,
Is there a non difficult easy way to make this game run on Steam deck?
If so how?😫

Install the Unofficial patch first. It will install the loader.exe file inside the VTMB folder. You can add this file as a non-steam game and it will run the game optimised for Linux.
There's Basic patch and Plus patch. Basic is the vanilla experience, just fixed, and Plus adds cut content and stuff. Choose the one you want.

You will need wine installed to install the patch. Just point it to the steam directory and it'll install everything. If you for some reason can't run the patch - the alternative is to use the WIndows machine (or windows VM) to install the patch, then copy the entire folder to your Linux install (overwriting everything). It will run normally then (i did this once, no issues).

Other than that, if you want the game to track your hours (because loader.exe i think won't), you can run it from Steam directly with the launch options:

-game Unofficial_patch
, and Proton 8 should work fine, or even Experimental. After Unofficial patch version 13, when the loader.exe got added, the game started working beautifully with linux.

Don't try to run it without the patch, only proton 3-something works with it, i tried it recently, and it's not pretty.

Basically, all you need to do is install the patch, and add the launch options.
