Texture Packs and Shaders
I have decided to play-through the game yet again, and this time I would like to add Texture Packs, Shaders and maybe some other graphical upgrades. I was going to use EeeKitties' Unofficial Patch & Graphical Improvements Explained guide but all the info in the sections for graphical improvements mods and such are out of date. I am not looking to completely over hall the textures but looking to improving them, making them look a bit better. I am using wesp5’s Bloodlines Unofficial Patch 11.5, I am also on POP OS (Ubuntu Linux) so they would need to be compatible with both. It would be great if there is an UP TO DATE guide out there like EeeKitties' Unofficial Patch & Graphical Improvements Explained .
Thanks!

There's this:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/vtmb-ai-hd-textures

And it's pretty good, the posters are a lot clearer, the rest is a more subtle but noticable improvement.

There's other character model replacers too, but never really dabbled with those.

However, i never managed to install it on Arch Linux because the installer would glitch. And when it didn't, i couldn't navigate it to the VTMB directory (since it doesn't recognize / ).

As for the rest, there's ReShade and GShade, but i haven't been able to install any of them on linux, they install, but i can't bring up the overlay in game to enable the effects.

There's some native solutions for linux that supposedly run certain ReShade shaders like VKbasalt but again - no luck getting it to do anything in game. Supposedly it runs and has some image processing on its own, but i can't tell any difference, nor is there a clearly explained way on how to run shaders.

If you manage to make any of those run, please write here how you did it.

I think I will do without, maybe if ReShade comes out with a native Linux version I will look into it in future.

I mean, just because I haven't gotten it to work, doesn't mean you can't. :)
But yeah, i get it.

VKbasalt is the "native reshade", and can run shaders, but it's not really straightforward to set up. And idk about the installer for VTMB HD texture packs, what's that about. I'm gonna try it again, maybe something changed.

just warning. idk about linux but try keep a backup of the original (unofficial patch > materials) folder

i started getting a lot of crashes. after lots of google i found apparently if that specific folder grows bigger than 8.6gb it causes issues.
mine was bigger than that with all the textures packs i had installed. issue went away when i addressed that issue.
